Maybe a trade offer will wake him once again

Technically you can't watch something with your eyes closed, so....

    ;)

Specific to this class. I basically currently have Ridley as a high 1st, Miller as a late 1st and everyone else I've watched is a 3rd or later. There are notable guys I've not watched (Kirk, Washington, St Brown, Moore - I prioritised my tape on guys the Rams might take in this exercise), so it could change.

I thought Sutton and Ridley were sure first rounders, and that Kirk would be borderline....Him falling to #42 surprised me a little bit, but I thought that was a great pick for Miami.

You and I are on the same wavelength...That's why I couldn't pass on Miller at #64, even though I signed Jarvis Landry...Yet he was like the 5th WR taken. I do like Washington the more tape I see of him. I also like St. Brown, obviously way more than the national pundits do. I see both of them as 2nd rounders, but everyone else has St. Brown as a 3rd rounder as his peak it seems. Moore is getting a lot of love, but I'm not sure he will be able to get separation to succeed at the next level. You never know, as always, the draft is just a fun game of craps.

I left off Kirk, I do like him as a 2nd rounder as well...

This draft is just so talented that some of these receivers that would have been perceived higher in the past, are going to fall imho, just due to the talent at other positions...Having 6 QBs with a possibility of being drafted in the first round won't help any of them...The RBs have me much more intrigued. What a deep class at that position.

I suspect I'll rate Kirk as a borderline first because I tend to love guys like him, but I've not watched anything bar highlights yet. I don't see the Sutton hype. He's big and a bit slow and there's no evidence (that I've seen) of him running full NFL routes. I feel like him being anything other than a situational/complementary guy is a big projection.

He's not the greatest at separating, but he uses his large frame like a basketball player. He get's position on the defender and wins most of the time. I like his toughness and he seems fearless on the crossers...I like him a lot, though I wouldn't have taken him with Denzel Ward still sitting there...

    (just seeing if Joe's awake):point:

Separation comes from more than just speed. And my priority was to get this crappy offense fixed. Something the real Ravens have no intention of doing.

Explosion numbers are more valuable, then horizontal and the 40 comes in last IMO.

Unless it's a really bad 40. Then I don't care how quick they can separate because the DB is going to cover the distance in a step and a half.

  11. TopDawg Legend

He doesn't have the elite speed, but Sutton does have qualities about his game that remind me a little bit of Randy Moss...That might be a crazy comparison, but I do see similarities...

I’m with you, I have Sutton graded pretty low (like WR9/10 area). I’m just not really a fan of developmental guys that early.

    That's an interesting take TD.

If I had to 'Moss' a receiver in this group, off tops, I think I would go with Chark.

And even then a really bad 40 sometimes is the same speed they run in the game, while most players run slower in pads. Usually a guy that has a slow 40 but not considered slow (or is even fast) on tape is simply a guy that for some odd reason doesn't slow down much geared up. Most guys lose .2-.3 seconds. These guys can only lose about a tenth of a second. Unlike other aspects this is something that can be measured on film more or less. What it does hurt is your potential for growth in that aspect.

  15. TopDawg Legend

He's certainly got the speed...Chark was one of my favorite sleepers...Though not sure he can still be called that after the Senior Bowl and Combine

Can I pick in 15 minutes?

Similar height and weight to go with it, but he doesn't have quite as long of limbs.

It depends on what your definition of a really bad 40 is.

What would be your cutoff point (I have one I use for scoring)?

    Yep.
