I forgot all about Rankin's existence. I like him (probably as a guard, rather than an OT).

The Rams now have 3 guys we're interested in and only 1 pick before we go - if anyone in the next couple of picks (Bucs, Patriots) is extremely keen on a particular guy, I'm happy to trade down for a fairly low price.

 

With the 36th pick, the Indianapolis Colts select Maurice “Mo” Hurst, Defensive Tackle - Michigan

 

Hurst is a bit of a gamble. But if the further medical evals clear, Jackpot!

I had him ranked in my top-10 before the combine. Now I’m curious how much further he would tumble if I didn’t make this move

 

I considered him at #35...but OT with Joe Thomas retirement hanging over my head was too much to wait for.

 

As a fellow Buckeye, this offense me, it is Mo Hurst from TSUN or *ichigan., none of this Acknowledging legitimacy crap hahaha

 

Joe Thomas is retiring...maybe not in 2018, but soon. The thought process is that Joel Bitonio could return to his LT position from college and Rankin can slide into the LG position, while developing. Rankin though, in the end, with more strength growth will ultimately be a LT in this league. He has the technique, but needs to work on a couple of things before he can be trusted. I think his ceiling is higher than some other linemen in this draft ranked higher than him though.

He seems to fit really well with what Wade Phillips likes in a CB.

I really went back and forth between him and another prospect. Like I typed one name, deleted it, typed the other and went back and forth a few times. I don't think I was going wrong either way...

The Giants have a lot of needs and I actually like "Wayne Train" Gallman so going for a RB here was a tough pill to swallow for me. But if the Giants really want to get back to hard running (and I tried to set them up to do so) they need a guy who runs angry. Guice reminds me of Ahmad Bradshaw out there running with an edge.

That's an interesting comp.

I hate my comp for Guice because of how poorly he performed as a pro (I know it doesn't matter but it makes me feel, just, wrong, lol), but I think their physical tool set is similar and they have similar styles.

That comp would be Trent Richardson.
