I don't know if they're sharp enough for that; maybe butter knives.

Jagr's goal yesterday ties him for 5th All-Time along with Phil Esposito.

Leafs record 16-game road losing streak. Florida and Tampa make it 17 and 18?

  4. assuming u listed those in the correct order, i'm fine with 17, but 18 is unacceptable ;D

That is a fun stat. Got any idea how it stacks up against last year... seems that one was a snoozer.

It was 20 and 38 last year.

Lots of trades were more than a day before both years too.

Last year's deadline was very good too, the two previous weren't very interesting in my opinion.

Years ago there used to be a more big trades but the quantity of transactions was much lower from what I read. I'm sure some blogger will put all that stuff out again, comparing years, and I'll try to keep an eye out for it.

2013 had Iginla, Bouwmeester, D. Roy, Regehr, Clowe, and Jagr but they were a little spread out. I don't remember anything else really standing out in the shortened year.

Seriously, those arnt bad Trade Deadlines either. I might have been recalling a couple years ago, but recollections are not my specialty.

this could cross over to the butthurt thread because i was butthurt at that whole fiasco, rightfully so.

Most of my memory has been assisted by recent references I read this morning and last night.

    But I still got skillz.

You were butthurt? How about PC?

I'm still butthurt. the addition of Jagr/subtraction of Iginla + Horton's wife cost me a Cup!

  14. thanks for bringing back up the classic example of why i don't share the mindset that a tweet = news.

although it didn't add up to much, i'm still laughing at that one. ray shero, where have you gone?

  16. here's a few:

stars are 3-7-4 when tied after 2.

flames lead the league with 9 overtime goals, br00nz second with 7.

and, according to His Jackness, bergeron has now broken FIVE sticks this season on odd man rushes.

the Pekka has gone limp lately.
he is 1-5-1 over his last seven starts with 23 goals against.
he has 50 starts so far this season, 37 quality starts while sporting a 37-12-3 record.

  19. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

Russell blocked 15 shots the other day. That's a record since they tracked the stat. He has to be some type of masochist.

since February (a stretch of 16 games as of today) the Penguins have allowed only 21 goals during 5-on-5 play. this is the second fewest in the league over that stretch, just behind a New Jersey Devils team that has played one less game, and are giving up just 45 total shot attempts per 60 minutes of 5-on-5 play, which is the third best in the league over that time frame and a number that is significantly lower (by almost five attempts per game) than their overall season total.

getting m04r and m04r DOMINATE as the season goes on.
