Jake Guentzel played in 40 regular season games and logged 10 PIMs. He has matched that total in just 16 playoff games. He also has 3 GWG in this post season, where he had 0 in 40 games during the regular season.

The modern-day Sens have never won a Game 7 ...

First time ever... 2-US born head coaches in the same SCF.

Penguins record fewest shots on goal in Stanley Cup Final win since 1960... that's when they started keeping track of SOG, so, the Penguins record may even go back further.

Penz played 40 minutes of hockey and STILL won. I can't remember the last time that happened. My 7-1 NYE bet is looking really good.

Penz are 0-3 in first attempt elimination games this post season. It took them an extra game to put away each opponent so far.

If Pens win tonight, they will be the first back-to-back Champs since '98.

The Pittsburgh Penguins are Stanley Cup champions 100% of the time when Phil Kessel is on the team.

saw this on yahoo...it's not a stat. due to the pens winning the cup, there needs to be more space on the cup for the names of the players and people on the team in the organization. so a ring has to be taken off the cup to make room. a ring with the last cups for: gordie howe, glenn hall, bobby hull, stan mikita, ted lindsey and rocket richard will be off the cup forever when the new ring is added for the pens. within 50 yrs, gretzky, lemieux, messier and even crosby's names will be off the Cup too.

It's Ok. The NHL didn't really begin until 1967 anyways.

Phil Kessel has played in 440 consecutive NHL games. He hasn't missed an NHL game since 2013-14 season with Toronto. See? Hot dogs and cookies can't be THAT bad.

After getting blanked by The Oil Spill 3-0 last nite, the Flames have now lost 8 consecutive openers (0-7-1).

Blackhawks[IMG] become 5th team in NHL history to score 10 goals in a season opener, and first since the Flames won 10-7 on October 5, 1989.

Jon Marchessault gets the honor of being the very first Golden Knight to sit in the penalty box... Congrats to the non-NFK Marchy!

I was talking to my gf about this yesterday. She (from Denver) went to school in Boston. She and her friend (also an Avs fan) attended a couple of games at TD Garden and the Avs won each time. Strange. Like the Twilight Zone of hockey.
