The Buffalo Sabres have played 12 games so far in the 2015-16 season. At the 12 G mark last year the team had a total of 12 GF, an even 1.00 GFPG. They started the first 6 games this year with a better effort of 10 G in 6 (1.67), and turned it up to 17 over the next 6 games (2.83). That's an average of 2.25 GFPG over 12, and I like this stat a lot more than last year's 1.00. Evidently, Dan put a bug in their ears that said "if you shoot it, it sometimes will go in the net".
the lightning are now the only team in the league to have not yet had a 1st period lead - 14 games and counting.
these two players have combined for 94 sog and have accumulated 0 goals, 7 assists. not to bad except they make a combined $14,125,000.00 per year. :! Spoiler jacub varocek and dustin brown
Eric Fehr, who signed as a free agent in the summer, scored his second shorthanded goal in his second game after missing the start of the season recovering from elbow surgery, becoming the first player in NHL history to score shorthanded in each of his first two games with a new team.
now that ^^^ is about as fun a stat as i could imagine. had another team been involved, i would imagine it would have been less fun.
Some had the Ducks winning the Cup this year. I don't know, it's early. But it seems the Penz made out like bandits in the Bonin trade. Add Fehr into the mix (always liked him as a player) and the the Penz have a good bottom line rotation that Johnson will match up with other teams #1 lines......Penz have won 8 of last 9 and are ranked 17th in the Power Rankings, haha.....Course I don't expect that clip to continue.
