lol. lemme put it another way. if the sun sets at 8pm for a point on the theoretical center line of the eastern time zone. it sets at 8:41 pm here. it would also set at 8pm for a point on the center line of the central time zone. if we were central time, our sunset would vary from the middle of the time zone by 19 minutes (7:41 pm), as opposed to 41 for the east. we really belong in central time

on the flip side, our late sunset adds wisdom to yogi's "it gets late early here"

I see we have no surveyors here. Understanding the transverse Mercator is imperative to getting the correct signal for the area your in when using GPS survey equipment and I'm not talking that low grade Garmin crap from Gander Mountain
