I was speaking strictly to the art of drafting...

how much does all this cost ? the 1 issue with the strategy is if someone has the same guy you do in another league. so you're cheering for him in 1 league and against him in the next. i hate that. 15 leagues is mighty impressive. to schedule that many drafts alone is a miracle. now i know NEVER to play again Jean in a fantasy league. he's cornered the market on them.

Irish is right the art of drafting can be done without playing in an actual league. Just about every site that host fantasy has mock drofts you can join where you can just practice different draft strategies.

The reason i ended up in so many last year was just the fun of drafting. Sure I could have done mock drafts but i wanted to keep track of how my teams did so I logically just kept joining leagues.

It cost me nothing for the second straight yer I participated in only free leagues. I have a league i have been running for a long time (since 1990) that is normally a pay league but two years ago a bunch of the guys acted like asses because money was involved so I took the pay part out of the league for two years. We are returning to a pay league next year and we will see how it goes.

As for scheduling most of them I just hit join a league now (or some such) and got in leagues that were drafting within the hour. Some were public leagues some were private that had been made public to fill their ranks. 2 of the 15 were auto drafted one because I couldnt be there and the other was a league i had been in previously and didnt think it was going to be renewed only to get an alert in week 1 i needed to set my roster. It ended up being one of the ones I missed the playoffs in. I had preset my rankings in case it did get renewed but the problem was it went from a league starting to qbs to one QB and they turned the other spot into a second flex position. My preranks were based on drafting a little more QB heavy in order to survive byes and injuries.

to me the draft is fun, but a large crap shoot. to me when my team is doing poorly for whatever reason, i am #1 on the waiver wire and add constantly. i am in the finals and have 30 more adds than everyone else. some owners don't give a shit to care that much. i do. i want to win the money league or a free league, so i am adding like crazy to give me a better chance at winning. it seems to work a lot.

FANTASY FINALS YESTERDAY. WOW. I made a boneheaded move cutting matt prater 30 min before 1 pm for janikowski. prater put up 13 pts and his TD pass didn't count. wow. and i almost added the kc def too, but kept seattle. kc put up 25 pts. and cbs said play robert woods and yahoo said dont. i stuck with cbs over playing the wr for buffalo who had a monster game. ugh. i was salty. prater, kc and i think his name is taylor alone would've given me a monter lead. alas no.

he had 4 players play at 1 pm and they did very little. all were well under their projected points. i was project to whoop him. then for 3 quarters the steelers did little, so big ben and juju shuster did little for me. add in mixon for cincy as well. i was pissed. then pitt gets rolling and big ben hit juju for a td. im back in it. then mixon has a 80 yr run. im ahead. i win 72-60. very low scoring. seattle def killed me. woods killed me. the other 2 teams that lost to us both had over 100 pts. they would've won if they played us in the title game. so i win $400 and back to back titles. i lost kareem hunt and Phil Lindsey too, so winning here was huge. everyone in the league is from Texas, so this Philly boy is loving life. first two years in the league and 2 titles. i love it.

I finished 3rd in my final league that finished up in week 17 and I learned upon returning to week that my former bosses team won first in his league. Why does it matter what my former bosses team did? Because while its his team and he fronts all the money I am his draft adviser and I advise him on pick up through out the season he also occasionally will seek my advice on who to star if he is torn between two guys. I dont remember who all I drafted for him in his league but I know Christian McCaffery, Antonio Brown and Andrew Luck were three of the players I nabbed for him.

wow - how did you get brown and mccafferty ? they were gone early in many of my drafts. haha. nice drafting.

  8. Jeanquev Legend Steelers

Brown was his keeper they got to keep one player and Brown is who I advised him to keep. I have no clue why the Mccafferty owner didnt keep him he must have had another stud or player he thought would be a stud.

  9. Catfish Guest

after this year, he's a stud now and brown is on the outs and will be on a new team in the fall. you need to be a real NFL GM. haha.

lol he just came and gave me money for helping him draft (I wasnt expecting anything) and the league is looking to add a flex position enxt year and turn it into a PPR which makes McCaffery a lock for keeper.

if u helped him that much and he got money, he should give u a little something. i helped my brother for years with free stuff and attachments and he won his league and didn't even thank me and he got money. that was the last i helped him. he's a doctor too so he didn't need the money.

Got a start up dynasty league looking for a few more members. Trying for a 16 team league up to 12 so far. Full PPR, snake draft, slow draft. Hit me up if interested.

    2019 Keeper Question non-PPR.

I can only keep 1 player. As defending Champ, I have the 12th pick in the draft in a wrap around draft style. I am think of keeping Dixon as RB are tough to come by with 11 other teams and most keeping RBs. :

    Ben Roethlisberger
    Joe Mixon
    Damien Williams
    JuJu Smith-Schuster
    Royce Freeman

I'm leaning on Dixon as RB is tough to pass up. Any comments and thoughts?? Thanks in advance.

I think hanging on to Mixon is the simplest/safest option you have available to you.

I have to agree with Tim on Mixon Cat........Bengals will probably struggle this year and rely heavily on Mixon.

That will be Points for the Cat.

Well, The other way to look at it is . . . Yes, the Bengals will probably struggle this year. And, because of that, they may often find themselves in a position where they have to throw the ball to catch up. You may not see Mixon racking up big numbers in the 4th quarter.

thanks Tim and VV. Good point made by Will and AJ Green out at least week 1. If I pass on Dixon, who would you keep Lyman? JuJu? He will be double covered now that's Brown is gone. Ben finished 3rd in QBs but he's not worthy of a keeper selection. So Damian Williams? Again, he's rated behind Dixon, so why keep him? I gotta grab a second RB and a WR with my first and second rounds picks, which are back to back, so available RBs after keepers and the first 11 picks ahead of me will be slim to begin with. To me, it has to be Dixon. I don't like it, but what choice do I have after considering all other options ?

Mixon is the no-brained decision. They still have a Tyler Boyd and the o-line will continue to improve.
