Congrats Tìm! I kinda wished the selfish TD by Harris instead of going to ground was the difference just for jokes.
First off, congrats to @RTTRUTH for cementing the first dynasty in this league. Going to 4 league championships and winning 3 in a five year span sets a high bar for every other franchise. Second, congrats to @JS for earning the most points total. Now, onto some league business... 2022 Draft Order: Rabid Dawgs Cover 0 Spicyweiners Roaming Capybaras Finger Bang Gate Beachbums Bloody Beavers Password is Taco BOMBERS Dork Dynasty Truths Trash Talkers Avalanche _______________________ LETTER FROM THE COMMISSIONER After some consideration on the best way to handle a recurring issue within starting rosters, there will be some changes made to both the inactivity rule and the overall roster. Every team must field an entire slate of eligible starters at every position, every week, no exceptions. Previously, if an owner wished to have a starting roster that had a player listed during their bye due to not wanting to drop a player at another position to fill that void, they would need to contact a commissioner in advance to notify them of the illegal line up. This grace for owners will no longer be extended. All starting roster spots must be filled with a player that is eligible to be listed as a starter. No bye week or injured players* are allowed in a starting line up. If a player does not have an injury designation 24 hours prior to the kickoff of their game the manager of that roster will not receive a warning if that status changed during that 24 hour window with no line up adjustment. This is a large enough window to protect owners and keep from creating a situation where someone can be penalized for a late change in designation. If you have an obligation or personal situation that interferes with that timeline then you have the responsibility to contact a commissioner to let them know. After reviewing the rosters for last year there is no justifiable reason to expand rosters beyond their current capacity for owners to remain in compliance with the inactivity rule. However, in keeping with the idea that any time I make a change in rules that potentially impacts other aspects of how managers prefer to build their rosters, we will be making a slight change to the practice squad. We will continue with 2 designated practice squad spots but with no set number for offense or defense. The open close windows will remain the same. This gives managers the ability to hold onto 2 players for either side of the ball or to split them evenly. Additionally, we will be adding one more IR spot that will continue with the same designations as the previous 3. As for owners looking to tank games at the end of the season - It is not the responsibility of the commissioners to set starting line ups and therefore there is no justification for penalizing owners that field a team of starters that are substandard for any match up. However, there will be some guidelines set for 'tanking'. Under no circumstances may an owner start a back up quarterback that is not slated to start that week. In other words, you have to field a passer that will be starting on game day. No exceptions. You cannot start a player that is listed with a team but is on their practice squad. You must field starters that are actually on the game day roster. No exceptions. Under no circumstances may an owner start a back up kicker that is not slated to start that week. In other words, you have to field a kicker that will be starting on game day. No exceptions. Any and all back ups at RB, WR, TE, DL/EDGE, LB or DB may be utilized as starters. There will also be a new penalty structure within this rule set. Starting with the first infraction: Official Warning Loss of Second Round Pick Loss of First Round Pick Removal From League Individual circumstances will be taken into consideration. The overall issue is that draft slotting and playoff seeding is affected by holes in rosters. Honest mistakes happen, and I am not looking to penalize owners for those mistakes. Basically, this structure is a tool that will help to make sure that owners that do make mistakes are not penalized while creating a rules set that clearly defines what practices are acceptable to end out the season. Warnings will no longer carry over from the previous season under the new rule, however any official warning that was issued under the previous rule will carry over into 2022. Additionally, for any player that is inserted into/left in the starting line up that does not meet the outlined criteria there will be an additional 12 points added to your total to end out the season. Points totaled is a tie breaker for draft slotting. These points do not count towards winning the points title at the end of the regular season. *In the case of injuries to a majority of a roster, there will be exceptions made if it is deemed detrimental to a franchise to field starters on game day. This determination will be made by the league commission (commissioner and co-commissioners).
I want to thank @beachbum for being a solid owner while he was a part of this league. Ain't gonna lie, I was pretty disappointed when you dropped out, but good luck to you in whatever other leagues you still compete in.
Taking over beach's roster in this dynasty league is a familiar face from the NADL. @Sam Mansfield will be joining the North division, so let's all welcome him into this league. Welcome to the league, Sam, and good luck to the Brooklyn Bearcats!
Bitter sweet, @beachbum is always a welcome addition. Glad to have @Sam Mansfield taking his place. Welcome
The #1 Overall pick is on the block until I get around to figuring out my draft board and fall in love with someone at #1. My only fantasy draft happening soon doesn't have me picking until the 3rd lol.
I'm going to take Breece Hall. Pick 1.8 is on the block to move either direction in the draft although I'll probably wait to move back until the draft.
Still looking to move pick 1.7 for preferably a 2023 1st and a pick this year. EDIT: looking to move pick 1.8
