My vote goes like this: 1) ESPN 2) Yahoo (it's fairly similar to ESPN in a lot of ways) 3) anything else 4) CBS (LOL)---if it wins, I'm in. Just taking pot-shots.
Having used them both, Yahoo and ESPN are basically interchangeable. Their draft, pre-draft process, and free agent search engine work essentially the same. I cannot however, speak for the commissioner. I don't know how they differ in league setup.

I guess Yahoo. I don't remember if I ever used ESPN. I'd probably be okay with them and CBS. Will quit if we use NFL.com. Ever since they tried to distance themselves from the CBS engine they shared and then subsequently sold out by having you pay for data and making it impossible to look at points in previous weeks and such.
Are you keeping a list of alternates in case someone drops out? If you are I would like my name added please.
Ok, it's looking like yahoo is the choice. I am going to start setting things up tonight and when I have it completed I will post the rules, entry fee deadline and the rest of the information. I can either let yahoo decide the divisions (if it's capable), use a third party site to scramble the names and spit them out or draw cards. Same with the draft order. Anybody have a preference?
One thing that I did notice was I cannot set the allotted pick time to anything longer than 2 minutes. I cannot stress enough that preparation will be extremely important and that you will need to remain organized as this draft will take a long time to complete, even at 2 minutes a pick. We will also have to keep track of which 2 players are on our practice squads (if there is a section for the commissioner to post a league message I can keep a list of them there). That's the first couple of things I got. I'll be back with more.
I don't think the divisions matter much. It's dynasty so some years one division will be better, but it should balance out over time. I would recommend random.org for the draft order. Just a funny guess, I'll end up picking one or two. I always seem to. It's freaky. Looking forward to hearing the rules, especially in regards to defensive players because that's new to me...so i'll have to study up. Just curious, but doesn't the league just have slots for this?
Personally, I like the 2 minute rule...at least for this inaugural season. With IDPs, we are going to have a LOT of rounds to get through. We may want to start figuring out when this is going to take place. If doing online draft Yahoo, their spots start filling up by the end of July. As it is now, for a 12 man league, and IDPs, I am guessing we will have about 22-24 rounds, with free agency to follow for practice squad and what not...a 22 round draft will take about 4.5-5 hours to complete.
There are no slots available for practice squad players. Right now this is how the rosters are breaking down - Offense: QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE Defense: DL, DL, LB, LB, DB, DB SPTs: D/SPTs (only scored for return TDs and blocked kicks), K There was some discussion of adding a flex position on offense. If we decide to do this we will need it's equivalent on defense. Without the flex - 14 starters, 16 bench With the flex - 16 starters, 14 bench Total roster of 30 + 2 practice squad players.
