We will be adjusting the scoring regarding fumbles as the original rules are in line with what Frank had suggested previously.

We will also be adjusting the scoring for returned conversion attempts as suggested by Joe.

If anyone has any other scoring issues they would like to discuss, this would be the time to mention them.

Blocked kicks a yay or nay? Doesn't matter much to me but I'd just like to know.

Also glad it isn't a vote and change league. When I came on board I liked the original set up. While I think you did say that the Flex change and others would have to be approved unanimously before I'm fine leaving things at the commish's discretion. I'm comfortable with your decisions and ability to listen to others and even backtrack on occasions. I don't think anyone can argue about the job you done, independent of the time commitment.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. *DRINK*

At some point this question came up either in this tread or in a PM with one of the owners prior to the start of the league. Last season RT brought up what he thought was a potential scoring discretion. I double checked to make sure that there was none, then verified that we would not be making any changes (vote or otherwise) because the type of scoring we were discussing would have went against the concept of the league. My only goal with any changes is to try and keep the original spirit of what we started while working within the confines of what we can do on FleaFlicker or any other site. With something like the flex position, there was some interest generated by owners early on but it was decided against because of the inability on yahoo to have a defensive flex player. Since it was discussed prior to the start of the league I felt it was a valid issue to bring up again and let everyone get their opinion on the record. It's something that would have to be discussed for a good period of time before I would put serious thought to inclusion.

Yes to blocked extra points and field goals for +1. No to blocked punts as they do not negate an impending score.

I am content with the IR spot (for actual injuries) disappearing, especially considering you added a roster spot, so the roster is actually no smaller in total. Good stuff!

While your reasoning here makes sense, I am a staunch supporter of adding a flex spot. I can make the argument that from week to week I believe my team stood a better chance of winning with the extra starter. I had an RB and a TE on my bench every week who stood a chance of putting up double digit points and it forced me to guess every week which one would be awesome. Sometimes I guessed right, other times I did not. I'm sure other owners felt the same way. That said, I am also glad it's not a vote and change league, so unless almost every owner feels as strongly as I do about the flex, I'm comfortable moving forward as is. As for your argument though, I feel that's an interesting aspect of owning your own "franchise", having to make tough decisions (keep a potential future starter vs. this older current flex guy), just like the real GM's have to do. But like I said, I'm comfortable either way. It was a fun year 1.

I can understand that. There was a point in time where my entire roster was healthy and playing well so stacking up the starters would have really racked up some points. The downside is with owners who have either been snake bit by injuries or who got burned on the top end of the draft. We had a really competitive season last year with some good runs by different teams (Tiger Styles big rally late sticks out). If we add the flex, based on current rosters, we are going to see some divisions get lopsided quickly.

I myself had a long time where if I had to go Flex I would have had weaker options than most either because I was snake bitten or was trying to keep some spots for young unready talent, especially during certain byes. I probably lose a game somewhere if there was a flex and lose the bye and thus take a 1st round loss to RT and then RT probably would have won it all when I look at the scoring breakdown. Tim finishes 2nd either way.

Now if there is flex in place last year I'd play it differently anyways. I played it like I did because I knew there was no flex and if there was next year it would be too risky to play it like I did anyways. If the switch was made mid-season I would have been pissed.

Also I like that the IR spot is gone. Its just a roster spot now but it still needs to be cut down to 30. If we went to Flex would it move up another spot since we got 2 more starters? Again I'd rather not but could live with it.

I feel if we add more starters it takes away from the whole pseudo-realistic (an oxymoron and a half) GM experience by handcuffing us from trying to plan for the future, especially when injures and byes come into play. But maybe I'm thinking too much and there is tons of room and I was trying to hold onto too many guys.

Seems Tiger Style is going to use all of his allotted time to wait for a concrete announcement from Calvin Johnson about his retirement. I don't blame him. He has Mayo retiring already and is probably cutting Zuerlein, his 2nd kicker, but if he likes his Carolina D there is no reason to get rid of them now if Megatron is gone before the deadline.

  8. I'm holding on to Calvin.

Speaking of my roster though there are some good players I'm willing to trade simply because I don't want to ever watch them play again.

    Janoris Jenkins
    Aaron Donald
    Robert Quinn
Nick Foles (ok, maybe they aren't all good)

We had discussed previously having the draft here in the forums. We would need to have a date set that everyone could attend in order to make that happen.

I'm not against the idea, but we should probably still have either some third party software with a timer or else use a website that offers extended time (I used a site years ago that you drafted through email with over the course of several weeks).

I'm ready to discuss any and all ideas about the draft starting now.

I use PrimeTime Draft Tim...It is a 3rd party draft software that I get for my (2) live drafts. I use it to project on a big screen tv, but it also has remote features. When someone can't make it to the live drafts, they merely sign in to the board and they follow it live. They can be made to offer remote drafting, or like I do, the remote drafters text me their pick and I make the actual pick on the board...I'm kind of a control freak...

Pretty cheap software for me...First year it was $20, now I get an annual renewal for $15..commercial license is $50 I think..

We could have it on here...and I could mediate it over the 3rd party software.

This is something that I've looked into recently. I will be taking over as the commissioner of one of my pay leagues in 2017 and this is the same software I am thinking of using.

Have you had any troubles with it in the past?

  12. IrishDawg42 Legend Manager Browns Buckeyes Fighting Irish

No problems at all...love it, I will continue to use it until they stop selling it.

It announces the pick also, but the voice is pretty damn cheezy. The timer aspect has really helped keep the draft in line time wise. One of the leagues I'm in is a 14 GM IDP league and has a 20 round draft. Before I started using this, it took us well over 5 hours...this is the 3rd year I have used software and the 2nd year in a row I used this particular software and it was over in around 3 1/2 hours this year. We have never had a draft where every member could make it live. The remote draft is awesome for that!

The league is set with 12 owners and we are ready to roll.

If you have not paid your dues please do so.

We will be holding the draft on the forums. My target date is July 17th. I would like to have an early start. We do have some West coast members so I will need to know what would be the earliest start time that everyone will be available.

If you have any questions be sure to post them or to message me and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
