And I believe you are looking at it wrong. I am asking to cut players that may be expendable on most rosters, a cut that I am willing to make myself in order to keep continuity within the league. Giving up 3 players with limited potential now for 5 players with limited potential later is something I can live with. Drafting players and being forced to make cuts a week later makes the draft practically meaningless. If it is the only way to continue to run the league smoothly, yes. Yes, the limit would be the same for everyone regardless of the number of picks. It would be considered an 'off-season roster limit'. For the draft, those that have more picks would keep all of the higher picks and lose later picks. If you had 5 picks in the first 3 rounds that would be your 5 picks.
lol, congrats Joe. I haven't paid my dues yet so whoever wants my $25 tell me where to send it. Thanks for the concern Tim. Yeah, I was heading back down a slippery slope and got back into an old lifestyle that can be dangerous for a guy with my appetite for unhealthy activities. Now just trying to repair a damaged long term relationship, but the clearer my head gets the less I'm liking what she's bringing to the table. May just be time to bite the bullet and kick the biatch to the curb. Get me a nice lower maintenance plain Jane. But like I said I have an appetite for what's not good for me. Seemingly out of my league hot, ridiculously high maintenance and emotionally challenging is typically my mo with women. Wonder why it never works out after a few years? Stay tuned to As Spress's World Turns. Hope all is well with you Jamoke's and all had a good holiday.
I don't know what's going on but seriously figure it out properly but don't let it stew too long without serious thought. You gotta know when to hop off that Ass Express.
[h]Final Roster Cuts are due in for March 1st. Everyone will need to bring their roster down to the 30 player maximum.[/h]
Deadlines for the 2016 season - Roster Limits Deadline Tue 03/01/16 11:59pm Add/Drop Deadline Tue 12/27/16 6:00 AM EST Trading Deadline Tue 11/15/16 6:00 AM EST EDIT: Start of 2016 Roster Cuts TBD (Monday of the third week of the preseason)
While we whittle away the next couple months... The option to have a flex player for both offense and defense is now available. We had discussed previously the option of adding a flex for both. If we vote on this and decide to add these 2 positions they will not take affect until post-draft, meaning roster cuts for this season would not change. We would need to make a decision on how we handle the roster maximum for the end of the 2016 season. My initial thought would be not to change the maximum regardless of the flex options.
I don't know what to vote for. I'm not going to make any vote official now but I don't think I want a Defensive Flex. As for one on offense I'm leaning no but that could change and not just because it obviously worked well for me lol. Tomorrow I'll probably lean yes. I might not throw in my vote unless it's a decider so as not to influence anyone else. As for the Roster size with flex additions I think I'm fine with how it is BUT if we add both O and D flex I would like the roster to be expanded by 1. At the top of your head without looking back were there any other proposals I or someone else made that had to be looked at?
Having it for only one side changes the balance of the rosters. Right now we have an equal number of players on either side of the ball. The only way I will vote yes is if we vote to add both. I believe Frank had one or two. One had to do with fumble scoring and I can't remember what the other one was. That's all I can think of but I'm sure there were more.
Ah yes he and I had a convo about that with different ideas. I'll post those since now is the time to bring them up. Also if we have to have both O and D I vote NO.
My cuts are made. I forgot we could cut our DST so I got to keep Wake for now and with Lynch gone I kept Michael and let Denard Robinson go, who probably isn't even worth rostering next year.
We'll need to do a roll-call of sorts to get everyone up to speed and check to see if anyone has any questions. This is a good time to discuss this as I will be posting the thread for the first collaborative mock draft either tonight or tomorrow morning.
Suggestion: -1 points for a fumble, by anyone except DST. +1 for a for a recovered fumble, by anyone except DST. +1 for a forced fumble, by anyone except DST. The force is usually the true skill accomplishment in the turnover and that should be worth something. Examples: If a QB loses a ball but recovers himself that is a net 0 points. If he loses it but his RB recovers then the QB loses a point but the RB gains 1. Get the DST more possibilities to earn points on some truly earned accomplishments (still rare). So far only Kick and Punt Return TDs count. Blocked kicks should be worth 2 points. Defensive 2-PT conversions should be worth 2 points. Also it isn't an available option but it would have been cool if recovered onside kicks gave points.
I think the simplest thing to do would be to make it so that only 'fumbles lost' is -1 and forced fumbles remain +1. We can add conversion returns for points and it can be added strictly to the SPTs along with blocked kicks. There is nothing for kickoffs.
Forced Fumbles is actually currently set to 2. And Fumbles Lost is definitely better than just fumbles The worst is when a RB fumbles at the end but falls on his own ball with his momentum and he loses a point for a fumble. Actually what was more frustrating was when those fumbles were not ruled fumbles by the NFL and my opponent didn't lose the point that by rule they should have.
