Right now I am going to extend the deadline for everyone involved so this does not turn into an issue. I am waiting for a response from FF before I determine which course of action we are going to take regarding roster cuts.
It's frozen rosters all around for another 40 days. We'll get it sorted out as cutting down to 30 is not a very pressing manner and if this is how FF handles it and we continue with their services next season then we will adjust the rules accordingly.
I have no problem making the deadline a week early going forward. Although commishs can still drop using their powers can't they?
Will just didn't want to run around nekkid. An upstanding citizen in his neighborhood. Frank, no pics needed, unless you have some hotties (women) that run with you.
Dammit, I thought I was paying attention...then I got sick and all hell broke loose on my schedule... If I can still do so...I wish to remove Victor Cruz from PS Cut Gregory Toler, Manti T?o and Crockett Gilmore
Yep, you can cut defense and kicker to trim out 2 roster spots, and yes, you will need to cut 3 if you have a player on IR. How you been RT? I'm looking into possibly moving the league to better accommodate some of our rules. It's been awhile since I used NFL.com's service but I'll be testing it out this week to see what all I can do. You have any experience using it in a dynasty league?
I honestly think any other site won't work as well as Flea Flicker but I could be wrong. Issues were few and far in between: 1. Practice Squad spots can't be separate from the main roster. 2. Locked Roster a week before we wished. Other issues were the waiver order(which we left alone) and seeding but that was because we set them wrong in the rules and not really FF's fault. I can live with not being able to add anyone after the championship game. The real issue I can see is how we can have an expanded roster for the draft if they don't let us have that many people. I can see us having no problem setting the 40 max the Thursday after the draft ourselves (if FA is closed until said Thursday) but even then we have no way of setting it to 40 without permanently having it at 40 do we? But can anywhere accommodate us?
I know we will have to have a rules "conference" soon enough but here is one I would like to see reviewed soon. Trading: I say we have it open earlier so that it is legal to trade during the draft, especially if we have an offsite draft where we could trade up and down. 2 weeks before? Free Agency: Should we change the rule to rosters lock immediately after our Championship like we were forced to? Either way not a big deal. I was more interested in the trading point. Waivers: We adjust the waiver order rules to not have H2H but points for as the top tiebreaker. It wasn't an issue this year but I had the last waiver throughout the playoffs when I should have been 2nd last if we followed our tiebreakers. It wouldn't affect the playoffs as we set them custom anyways, independent of site rules.
This is the main one I am looking at now. The max with FF is 32. At NFL.com it's 40, and that would clear up a potential headache immediately.
Trading will be open during the draft so long as we either draft offline, draft with separate software or find a site that will accommodate it. The free agency question is a good one. Locking it immediately after the last game is not a bad idea as even the championship teams will have a fair crack at setting and revamping rosters prior to seasons end. The waiver thing was a fuck-up and it will be corrected prior to the start of next season.
Just a thought and I don't know if its possible or not but I know in yahoo you can run multiple leagues. If you can run multiple leagues on flea flicker you could have your normal league and then also have a "Dynasty League Practice squad". Sure it would mean a little bit of work to see if a guy was on some ones practice squad or if he was available, but one problem it would solve is you could not accidentally start a practice squad guy.
you could also have a piece of paper and a pencil and write down who your practice squad players are and those of the other teams. i know this is old school, but it worked for me. *HIGH*
Would be a bigger logistic nightmare imo. Also Instead of remembering 2 of your own practice squad players you have to look for the 22 others each time you add. Plus if you releasing a PS player it would be a waiver issue.
So the blockbuster trades had zero effect on any results for Tim and I either in season or during the playoffs.
Ok, so after reviewing a lot of this season and preparing for the off-season I have a couple things that will more than likely be changing. If you have an opinion, please be sure to post it. The max roster size in fleaflicker is 32, meaning we will not be able to have a 10 round draft and a 30 man roster going into next season. Right now, this is the best solution IMO. 27 man roster for the off-season, a 5 round draft, name 2 players to the practice squad and 30 to the regular roster as per the original rules for the beginning of the season. We need to tweak the FA rules as well. Fleaflicker automatically freezes rosters for roughly 6 weeks at the end of the season and as Joe alluded to before it is probably the simplest fix to adapt the end of season roster freeze as part of the rules. We still need to fix the end of season roster cuts so my suggestion is the following - All roster to be trimmed down to 27 active players by March 1.
