Good Job Lyman........nice to see you know the Metric system. I wonder will the US ever go Metric ???......Jimmy Carter tried and failed....it is so much easier.
We are the world’s leaders so we won’t follow anyone else. That’s part of making/keeping America Great
Nope. "Give 'em an inch and they'll take a mile" is so much easier than "Give 'em 25.4 millimeters and they'll take 1.60935 killometers".
We are the world’s leaders so we won’t follow anyone else. That’s part of making/keeping America Great There is only 3 Countries in the World that are NOT Metric.....and the USA is one of them and one of the reason they did not convert to Metric was because of Manufacturing reasons........and that was 6 President's ago.......and how are things now .
"Give 'em 25.4 millimeters and they'll take 1.60935 killometers". Are you telling me you do NOT round numbers off in the USA ???......no wonder you not on Metric.
Larry. I regret to inform you that you're full of shit. Manufacturing companies in the U.S. started to design and produce cars using the metric system back in the late 1970's and still do to this day.
That's some Dukes of Hazzard shit right there!! I expected to see a POS rebel flag on the roof of that car.
Had to look this up. Myanmar and Liberia are the only other countries in the world that haven't officially adopted the metric system yet. In both countries, metric measurements are used alongside imperial ones.
The US passed a law allowing the metric system to be used in place of miles, but they didn't make it mandatory so there are only like 3 pieces of signage in the US in KMs.
Imagine an entire country of right handed people. Then tell those people they had to become left handed. Then tell those same people if they did . . . it really wouldn't have an economic impact in their lives. It's no wonder the metric system never took root in the U.S.
Also if I'm not mistaken, not using metric in the construction industry results in about 15% loss of profits due to waste in fixing cuts.
Using standard measurement. We built a couple of big ass bombs, won two world wars, and put a few men on the moon. Do that with the metric system, then come talk to me.
Except we do measure the output of those bombs in kilotons, which is metric............so, go figure.
Because we want our enemies to know exactly what’s going to happen to their happy asses if they mess with us.
