I was so wrong on Nathan at the beginning of the season when I said 'the only person I dont worry about in that bullie is Nathan' - not even close. thanks for having easily your worst year here. This guy is done. Ive seen enough, his pitches are flat and hes lost a lot of gas. He has a sh*tty attitude and I dont care for him anymore.......but we now have a light at the end of the bullpen tunnel. the savior is here. No really this guy is as solid as they come. 2 Tommy Johns and his k to walk ratio has Nintendo #'s attached to it. Ive always liked him, just never thought hed be here. His stuff is solid, and hes actually better now when he was closing games for the Royals. the biggest thing I like though is his composure. Being a pitcher and staying in the right mindset is imperative for success. He doesnt get rattles, doesnt walk almost anyone ever and is cool as a cucumber. Love this move and we just went from maybe getting to the WS to having a real good chance at maybe even getting a ring. This guy is the real deal and the best deal on the market. Kudos for D Brow pulling this off. We gave up a lot but were in win now mode. THis was the right move and a good one. One more arm would be nice, letting Benoit walk last year was a bad move. bringing him back may just put us over the top. Love DBrow, hes aggressive and has an excellent feel for drafting power arms
I wanted Nathan to succeed and he was given plenty of opportunity and time, then the tweaking of the mechanics got me really worried. He came out after that and did well for one game and then right back to blowing up again. Soria is having a great season so far and i hope it continues in Detroit...going to be fun to watch. Who do they need to go after now? I think their still a piece away, maybe someone to come in long relief or middle relief because Coke is not the real thing. How long do they keep trotting him out there, only to get lit up? One more addition and I would really be confident in winning in October. Need some more DD magic, I think.

Trout, Pujols, Hamilton, thats a tough 2 3 4 right there. Aybar hitting well too. Scherzer has got his work cut out.
the uncanny thing is that last night, i watched this. in it, steed... well... watch the whole thing, or skip forward to the 35:45 mark
and i gotta say, surprised to see a dailymotion video load inline. the guys behind the curtain have been busy it seems *DRINK*
That was ironic. Cant say Ive ever tried it tho. Probably taste's like chicken or maybe rattlesnake...havnt had that either. Nice to see another option on the video front. I was surprised when I first saw the Dailymotion thingermabob. I do remember the Avengers now. I remember seeing it as a kid. I just couldnt picture it when you last mentioned it to me in the shoutbox. There's a lot of old shows I would likely enjoy now, that I was to young back then to appreciate or even understand.
the internet is a wonderful thing. all 300+ episodes of red green are on youtube, and i'm starting to suspect the entire avengers is on dailymotion.
I noticed that about Red Green. It seamed the episodes were nearly endless when I looked up something he did with duct tape. So far i dont miss cable TV, at all. I got an analog/digital converter and have 12 channels to watch for free, including a retro channel or two. Its cool how all the local channels have digital sub-channels, some with decent programs. When it comes to live sports...I stream it. Im going to spend an evening searching some of the oldies up on the web, probably beats the daylights out of most of the stuff today. That reminds me...I might have to go. Is the batchelorette on? What a pile some of the stuff thats on.
http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article/det...md=20140723&content_id=86021740&vkey=news_det If Nathan is the closer, the Tigers just might be finished in the 2014 playoffs - assuming they make it that far. The playoffs are no place for up and down performances. The Tigers should know better after their experiences with Jose Valverde.
Thanks for that, ml. If Nathan keeps serving it up, the Tigers now have the guy who can step into his role. Nathan is going to get a push now. Plenty of Summer left to see if Nathan can turn it around, but in my opinion, they wont play games too long. Nitro either has it working or he doesnt.
Good for Nathan (struck out the side in the 9th) and how about Scherzer? Tigers with the best road record, beat the Angels with the best home record. Analysis - Tigers are the better team.
Tonights opposing pitchers. Friday 7/25 10:05pm Drew Smyly (L) @ Angels - Tyler Skaggs (L) 1. Austin Jackson (R) CF 2. Ian Kinsler (R) 2B 3. Miguel Cabrera (R) 1B 4. Victor Martinez (S) DH 5. J.D. Martinez (R) LF 6. Torii Hunter (R) RF 7. Nick Castellanos (R) 3B 8. Alex Avila (L) C 9. Eugenio Suarez (R) SS 1. Kole Calhoun (L) RF 2. Mike Trout (R) CF 3. Albert Pujols (R) 1B 4. Josh Hamilton (L) LF 5. Howie Kendrick (R) 2B 6. Erick Aybar (S) SS 7. David Freese (R) 3B 8. C.J. Cron (R) DH 9. Chris Iannetta (R) C
You nailed it. Hopefully there will be more fishy stuff in the lineup tonight to add to the Trout and a Conger of last night.
