  2. should be a good one. Shields has excellent offspeed stuff. I really like the Royals lineup, speed and power up and down it. But your gonna lose and were better. Porcello finally found his groove, at this point Im convinced of that. Hes a control pitcher and has learned to pinpoint his pitches. hes a Glavine type when his stuff is on. THese types are fun to watch, Im a power pitcher guy but the confusion these type of guys can present keeps the hitters so off balance and once you get that, youve won half the battle.LETS GO TIGERS!!!

  3. even without VMart that top 5 is solid. cant wait for him to get back, thats my guy and hes money. Why the Tigs havent extended him already is beyond me

I read over on mlive that Victor will be back right after the All-Star break just in time to play the Indians. Remember back before the season started I was worried about him hitting behind Cabrera? He took care of that just fine. Victor may not have been extended back in the Spring because they didnt know about his ability to stay healthy or if he would even hit well enough. I even read their not too sure how long Cabrera is going to be able to play defense before he becomes a DH. Just some thoughts. The way he's hitting now, you would want to sign him or at least extend him another year. I think he's earned it.

Going to Waffle Farms Campgrounds in Cold Water Michigan this morning. Thunderstorms, rain, wind...perfect.

I doubt I'm back by game time. Here are the starting pitchers...

    Sunday 7/13 2:10pm
    Justin Verlander (R)
    @ Royals - Bruce Chen (L)

  8. JD Martinez is a freakin stud, what a pickup hes been. How did the Astros let him go. guess thats one of the many reasons they suck. Porcello another very solid game

Have fun WIll, hope the rain holds off for you

Well, at the break the Tigers have a 6.5 game lead. Not bad.

Trip was nice. Once I got on the 80/90 it quit raining and it was high and dry the whole time there. Michigan really is a beautiful state. The lake was very nice. Good day trip.

  10. Its nice but like any big state its got some real crap spots. Flint, Pontiac and of course Detroit are pretty crappy. Glad the rain held off for u Will. Did u fish at all? I got a big fishing trip planned for 2nd week in August up in the UP. I can't wait

Unfortunately not. They had a fishing contest, which I just missed. That would have been fun. We just gathered together by the lake and BBQ'ed and played guitars and lied to each other. Very relaxing time. Its always a pleasure to get out of Dodge for a while and see the country side.

Have fun on your trip, that sounds like a blast. I'm headed back down South in September again. Gonna do some serious fishing and shooting...plenty of boating too.

  12. well worded, this is every weekend w my buds. Down south where? like Florida down south?

  13. ....oops^^^ minus the guitar part. I couldnt play chopsticks on a guitar, actually I cant play any instrument to save my life. Which is why I love music so much. Ive tried and I suck, and thats respect. dont they always say athletes always want to be rock stars and vice versa?

Im helping out the coaches at my old HS for their summer baseball league and man am I not even close to what I was. lets just say the cutter doesnt cut and my fastball is slow at best. Sucks because the coach is a old teammate and hes talked me up from the heydays and Ive done nothing but dissappoint Im sure. oh well what else is new, the wifes been in that boat for almost 20 years now

  14. *NO* :-* *DONT_KNOW* *ROFL*

good possiblity I get a lot of these from the players

Usually I start at my brothers place in Adaire County Kentucky. We fish 3 places, Green River Lake, Dale Hollow and Lake Cumberland. Some of the most beautiful country i have ever seen. Gotta be careful to stay in KY waters and not drift into TN waters...my license is only good for KY.

Where abouts do you fish in the Upper? I bet its really nice. Ive never been there they tell me its nice. Joe Walsh. :)

I can relate to the baseball and getting older. My nieces and nephews always ask me, 'Willie, are you sure you played baseball'? Not the most flattering thing to hear. lol. I cant throw anymore at all (shoulder). I do occasionally hit the cages and work on the swing, but thats even a big challenge anymore. 'What a drag it is getting old. Stones. Baseball is a game I grew up with and is still fun even if i cant play it that well anymore. I bet you must have had a lot of fun at the college level too. I wasnt good enough to compete at that level, dropped out of school too, that didnt help much.

    This describes my baseball days ------------> K & E

Andy Dirks suffered a set back in his rehab stint and will remain on the 60 day DL.

Ranked the Tigers' No. 12 overall prospect according to MLB.com, VerHagen is 6-7 overall with a 3.67 ERA in Toledo this season. He has allowed three or fewer runs in his last five starts and has pitched at least seven innings in four of his last five appearances.

Tigers open a 4 game series with the Indians tomorrow at 7pm in Detroit.

  20. Robbie Ray gave up like a TD in a couple innings on Sunday. he was supposed to get called up but after that performance they said no dice. I love DBrow and rarely criticize him but Fister has been pretty damn good over in Washington......just saying
