You know, its too bad Coke doesnt have 'it'. At first I thought maybe things were just fluky and he would turn it around, but he has been given many opportunities and that just isnt happening. Its nice to see Joba, AA, and Krol getting some good innings, that sure helps, but a good lefty would make things a lot better. Bull Pen was just fine last night, just couldnt get the clutch hit. Either failed to execute, or ripped the ball right at somebody. Some tough breaks.
Lady's and Gentlemen and all you toothless bearded old hags. Your Detroit Tigers starting lineup: Sunday 6/1 4:10pm Max Scherzer (R) @ Mariners - Roenis Elias (L) 1. Rajai Davis (R) LF 2. Ian Kinsler (R) 2B 3. Miguel Cabrera (R) 1B 4. Victor Martinez (S) DH 5. Torii Hunter (R) RF 6. Austin Jackson (R) CF 7. Nick Castellanos (R) 3B 8. Bryan Holaday (R) C 9. Danny Worth (R) SS 1. Endy Chavez (L) DH 2. James Jones (L) CF 3. Michael Saunders (L) RF 4. Justin Smoak (S) 1B 5. Kyle Seager (L) 3B 6. Mike Zunino (R) C 7. Dustin Ackley (L) LF 8. Brad Miller (L) SS 9. Willie Bloomquist (R) 2B
Tigers bats are like that Simon & Gurfunkel tune, 'the sound of silence'. Scherzer hates that tune right about now.
http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?gid=2014_06_01_detmlb_seamlb_1&mode=recap_away&c_id=det There are peaks and valleys in a baseball season - just ask the Boston Red Sox. However the Tigers seem to have Mt. Everest (not peaks) and Marianas Trench (not valleys). Or at least it feels that way. Fortunately the West Coast swing is over and none too soon.
Max has to shoulder some of the blame. He was not exactly "lights out" himself. Now Scherzer may be thinking that he should have signed the "big contract" the Detroit Tigers offered him this past offeason.
I like the analogies, especially the Marianas Trench one, and i agree. Time to forget and move on. Just going through some stuff and having some hard luck, but it can all turn around very quickly with this team. I think we will see better fight from the Tigers against Boston and Toronto. Scherzer wasnt lights out, but seemed better at times and I think he pitched well enough to win, but you gotta score some runs. Baseball is a funny game...just a few weeks ago the Tigers were totally together and just cruzing along and then all of a sudden things flip flop. Its an interesting game. Whats wrong with Joe Nathan? They need him to straighten things out. Im getting that 'here come Papa Grande feeling' again when he gets the ball. Jackson blew a tire lately too, but i think he will bounce back. Is Victor Martinez a nut or what? He is driving everything, and really hard. Fun to behold. Anyway, ebbs and flows, its all part of the game. Tigers will be just fine when all is said and done.
Tuesday 6/3 7:08pm Anibal Sanchez (R) vs. Blue Jays - Drew Hutchison (R) 1. Ian Kinsler (R) 2B 2. Torii Hunter (R) RF 3. Miguel Cabrera (R) 1B 4. Victor Martinez (S) DH 5. J.D. Martinez (R) LF 6. Don Kelly (L) 3B 7. Austin Jackson (R) CF 8. Alex Avila (L) C 9. Andrew Romine (S) SS 1. Jose Reyes (S) SS 2. Melky Cabrera (S) LF 3. Jose Bautista (R) RF 4. Edwin Encarnacion (R) 1B 5. Adam Lind (L) DH 6. Brett Lawrie (R) 2B 7. Juan Francisco (L) 3B 8. Dioner Navarro (S) C 9. Anthony Gose (L) CF
After 6 innings, no score. Tigers havnt scored since Saturday. Sanchez is pitching another great game.
ahem, i was talking about Joba. he pitched a fantastic inning not looking = wise policy. isn't valverde available again? *WALL*
They got 3 runs anyway. Moral victory, I guess. Everywhere I go I see Duck Dynasty stuff, their even in the news from time to time. Ive seen, grand total, about 10 mins of their show.
i'm proud to say i've seen 0 minutes of the show. i saw a duck dynasty chocolate bar in a store, it was priced obscenely. people are silly.

In part from mlive... I give him credit for not running away and avoiding the media after the game, but when you say, "no excuses", and then in the same breath say there was a lot of bad luck out there, what the hell does that mean?
