He's just banged up a little. His hip flexor is bothering him still, and he has a sprained left abdominal muscle. He was penciled in yesterday, but had to get scratch just before the game while he was taking ground balls during batting practice. Just too sore. He's been getting days off lately and the Tigers are still in cruze control...thank goodness.
local radio has been talking about it a lot. lot of people concerned him and JV have something maybe more serious. of course take the sports radio yahoos with a big grain of salt but its been a hot topic lately. I hope nothing is serious with either. we lose either one and man is it gonna make things difficult. your right though Will, thank god the team has been playing so well. thats a testament to our depth. On a side note Im really liking Benoit in the closers role, he really seems to have settled in nicely there. hes got the closers stuff and a great out pitch, nice slider with some bite to it to go along with and active 2 seamer and keeps hitters off balance with a nice changeup that Ive seen make more than a couple batters look silly. that herky jerky windup disguises that offspeed stuff excellent. looks like hes bringing the heat every time
He's been fantastic. 20 of his last 21 innings have been scoreless. A big improvement over the Benoit that was serving up the long balls last year. I said long balls, lol

i have a new favorite sam commercial. it's the one with his son (the bald one, not the blind one) talking about how they have serious injury accident attorneys for their clients with serious accident injuries. i think he's been watching the little caesars guy with his serious voice. Seriously. I'm serious.
