http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?gid=2014_05_16_detmlb_bosmlb_1&mode=recap_away&c_id=det Too bad the Detroit Tigers and Max Scherzer couldn't work out a contract extension prior to the beginning of the season. Max may be too expensive by the end of the season for the Tigers.
On a side note, the Boston Red Sox hitters said that they could not believe what they saw when facing Max Scherzer.
http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/inde...1&mode=preview&vkey=preview_web_away&c_id=det Rick Procello has been pitching well so hopefully that can translate into a win against the Red Sox.

http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/gametracker/recap/MLB_20140517_DET@BOS Congrats to the Tigers on 10 consecutive road wins.
I know the Tigers have great pitching, but to give up just 1 run so far to Boston in their park is really quite impressive. We are witnessing something very special. Dare I say, kinda looks and feels like 1984. If I recall correctly the Tigers back then, started with 17 wins in a row on the road. What a team and start so far. Thanks mlmeng for posting that, good stuff. I'm sure Porcello loved turning things around and not being on the bad end of a 20-4 loss. I know its early in the start of a very long season, but things are rockin-n-rollin for the Tigers right now. Better than i anticipated going into this campaign, and i always have high hopes going into a new season. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?gid=2014_05_17_detmlb_bosmlb_1&mode=recap_away&c_id=det With Max Scherzer's fate next season unknown, the Tigers will need to have quality pitching just in case. And Rick Procello is coming along nicely. I am really glad that Rick Porcello was not traded in the offseason.
credit where credit is due. i've seen redwings1969 take a LOT of flak on cBS for his defense of rick porcello over the last couple of years. have a drink on me, 69 - you've earned it *DRINK*
http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/inde...1&mode=preview&vkey=preview_web_away&c_id=det One down (Rick Porcello getting hot) and one to go (Anibal Sanchez getting back on track). Along with Justin Verlander and Max Scherzer, that would give the Tigers four real strong starting pitchers. Throw in an improving Drew Smyly and I like the Tigers' chances for post season success.

There will be a battle for Lake Erie tonight. Tigers look to continue that win streak on the road. This ought to be a great series. The Indians will be attacking under the leadership of Chief Wahoo. JV, had velocity, but he got rocked. The Indians were really seeing his fastball well, and teeing off on it. They have won the battle, but the war aint over. Good for them. Tigers will try to avoid the sweep as well as the rain this afternoon. First pitch is at 12:05.
