That kinda hurts to see, but I will gladly take that walk-off winner that Gonzalez delivered on opening day.

I see the Tigers arnt taking the Birds too lightly as they have brought out the big gun, Mr. Kelly. :) Well, its a good day for baseball, a little chilly, but a high of 40 and wall to wall sunshine. Go Tigers!

Its been the Torii Hunter show today. A 2-run HR, and a 3-run double. Not a bad day at all. Tigers up 7-1 in the 7th.

...and lets not forget about the lean, mean, hitting machine Don Kelly. 3 for 4, 2 singles and a triple, with 1 RBI. This has been very impressive so far. The pitching has been unbelievable...just hope I can still say that in another Month or so. :)

  14. Phil Coke - #40 LHP
    0-0, 54.00 ERA
    12 Pitches: 6 Strikes, 6 Balls

bullpen? we don't need no steenkin bullpen!!!

Coke had a decent Spring. He sure started off on the wrong foot today, tho. He needs to get it figured out, or I'll be watching him in Toledo...and soon.

  16. Willie Head Coach Manager News & Notes Vikings

    ...and its promptly 7-5. Yikes!

  17. Willie Head Coach Manager News & Notes Vikings

    Tigers hang on...7-6, winners. Whew.

Still the last undefeated team. Ricky pitched great today and Torii was outstanding. 4-0 with 158 to go! couldn't be more excited about the start!

I have a question. Everything looks just fine, except the bullpen. Should that be a major concern, or just an un-lucky start? The bullpen has been getting kinda lit up.

  20. Its absolutely a concern. It was already an weak point with Rondon. The pen was gutted from last year and you lost your most reliable lefty in Smyly. Useless... I mean Coke is now the only lefty and that'snot gonna cut it. I expect DBrow to make a move before long. Coke is a joke and is at best a AAA pitcher. Al Al has durability issues and Reed is very green. I like Joba and think he'll be a good addition. Funny how many people made fun of getting him. As long as he's used judiciously hell accell. The only one I don't worry about is Nathan, he's as solid as they come
