two things stand out in my mind when I see the lineup card thats very likely our starting day lineup. a very good switch hitting hitter behind Miggy and speed. theres more IMO to pitch around now than there was before. atleast 5 guys there are base stealing threats. Id rather pitch to power hitters than put half that lineup on base. Davis should be ahead of Romine and jackson should be behind Avila. go power then switch then lefty. Jackson will set the table after. If Kinsler goes down(which Im sure he will) we have big lineup problems.Very curious to see how Ausmus handles this group
Im confused about something. Im curious who the Opening Day starter at SS is going to be. Romine or Gonzalez? I havnt paid enough attention I guess. Somebody help me out, Im having a brain fart.
http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/writer...one-tigers-sign-off-on-292-million-commitment The contracts today are mind-boggling to me. I'm not quite old enough to remember Mickey Mantle and his $100k contract. In those days, $100k may have been mind-boggling. http://news.google.com/newspapers?n...W1PAAAAIBAJ&sjid=CAUEAAAAIBAJ&pg=5153,5346568

http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp...tebook_id=70487128&vkey=notebook_det&c_id=det I love to see Comerica Park with the Olde English D and beautifully manicured field. And after all the snow I've seen this winter, Comerica's field looks even better.
I never knew that the Tigers ever used anything than the Olde English D. Of course, I am no where near as old as the Detroit Tigers.
Two great post, mlmeng. Its always interesting to me to learn the history behind stuff and to see the progression of things over time. Of all those logo's, Im glad they settled for the one they have now...some of those others, well, aint to cool. Nothing beats Opening Day in Detroit, their grounds crew is second to none. I was commenting to some of my friends and family, as to how beautiful everything looked. Not only the new sod and all the other stuff, but sunny and 60's was a great thing for a change. Wished I was there. Anyone out there ever been to an Opening Day for the Tigers? Or any MLB park...share your story.

i was gonna post a "bless you boys" video. then i played it, and realized i had forgotten just how lame it was. but, off to the right, bing was suggesting "related searches", and strangely, jealous guy was one of them. *SCRATCH* i'll preface this by saying that as a general rule, reunion concert = bad idea. but this one - roxy music live at the apollo - is an exception. so, with apologies to al ackerman, ima post this instead.
