i can't bring myself to post an actual kenny rogers clip - so i'll settle for this cover instead.
Good choice. She's easier on my eyes, my mind, and my soul. Cool tune, and a pretty good group of musicians. At my rehab meeting last Tuesday, there is another musician who turned me on to a guitarist by the name of Andy McKee...check out his playing style. Its very different...pretty cool sounding actually.
believe it or not Lulz(and you know how much I hate female singers) Allison Krauss has an excellent voice.the wife is a big fan and I actually dont mind listening to her music........that goes no farther than this :-X
interesting stuff, will. i don't doubt more people do it, but the only other person i can think of that i've seen do this is david mayfield, a very strange man who leads a group called the David Mayfield Parade.
That is really a strange way to play. Cant say that ive ever tried or even been tempted to play in that fashion...I have a difficult enough time playing the conventional way.
Side note: Justin Verlander, who is working his way back from core muscle surgery, threw his fourth bullpen session Tuesday, tossing 54 pitches. He was expected to throw 45-50. I like the reports Ive been getting on JV. So far, there have been zero reports of any pain or even discomfort. He is slowly but surely, day by day, cranking it up, and all is going well.
Alex Avila dealing with back spasms already. I hope thats not a sign of things to come for him. Tigers are going to need him big time. Verlander is scheduled to throw live BP today and the Tigers actually play Florida Southern tomorrow.
?Feb. 25: Tigers vs. Florida Southern College...1:05 pm et, no radio. Tomorrow the Grapefruit League kicks off with the Tigers and Braves. That game can be heard in Detroit on 1270.
Mr. C. Iott, mlive gets credit for this: LAKELAND, Fla. -- The starters for the Detroit Tigers never play long in their team's annual exhibition game against Florida Southern University. The prospects made plenty of noise in their place in this one. Steven Moya knocked in four runs, Daniel Fields and Eugenio Suarez homered and Robbie Ray struck out five of the six batters he faced Tuesday afternoon as the Tigers rolled to a 12-0 win over Florida Southern. Moya doubled and tripled to account for his four RBIs. Fields drove in two runs. GAME NOTES -- Right-handed starter Drew VerHagen struck out two and retired all six batters he faced for the Tigers. -- The first eight Tigers to bat went down in order before Jose Iglesias walked with two outs in the bottom of the third inning. He was the first player for either team to reach base. Steve Lombardozzi followed with a double to put runners at second and third, and outfielder Steven Moya doubled down the line in right field to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead. -- The Tigers made it 3-0 on the home run -- a line drive over the wall in right -- by Fields in the fourth inning. They then tacked on four more runs in the fifth, thanks to a two-run triple by Moya, an RBI single by Don Kelly and an RBI single by Fields. -- Suarez hit a home run to left field with one out in the eighth to give the Tigers a 12-0 lead. -- It didn't take long for Nick Castellanos to see his first action this spring at third base. He fielded a grounder nicely to retire Conon Szczerba to start the game, then made a running catch on a foul ball to end the first inning. -- The only two Tigers starters to stay in the game past their first at-bat were left fielder Andy Dirks, catcher James McCann and Castellanos at third. McCann started in place of Alex Avila, who missed two workouts over the weekend with back spasms. Avila is expected to start Thursday in the Grapefruit League home opener for the Tigers against the Braves. -- Seven Tigers pitchers held the Mocs to three hits. Ray and Jhan Marinez each allowed a double. Melvin Mercedes surrendered an infield single in the ninth. The Tigers finished with 13 hits.
...anyway, nice to see the Tigers get off on the right track. Tomorrow against the Braves will probably see some of the starters go a bit deeper into the game.

Lennerton can rake, hes a shorter version of Boesch. long swing with legitimate power. problem is those are the easiest hitters to figure out
Tigers used speed on the bases and had a 9th inning comeback win against the Braves today. Kinda cool listening to Tigers baseball on the radio today despite temps in the teens here at home. I dont know much about this Lennerton guy, but I suspect I'll see him in Toledo. Power lefties are going to be a very good asset to have for the future. No game on the radio tomorrow, but the next 6 after that have been picked up starting Friday.
1. Jason Heyward (L) DH 2. Ramiro Pena (S) SS 3. B.J. Upton (R) CF 4. Ryan Doumit (S) RF 5. Gerald Laird (R) C 6. Mark Hamilton (L) 1B 7. Edward Salcedo (R) 3B 8. Jordan Schafer (L) LF 9. Jason Heyward blasted a Duane Below fastball into the seats in the third inning and its 2-1, Braves. Cabrera in his first at bat got plunked in the left shoulder...he's just fine.
