gibby has stated he's not leaving the desert. i say let's get papa grande. i'm thinking outside the box. managing reimagined.
were important now, theres a baseball section. well done Tim, all I need is baseball and hockey *THUMBSUP* just like the Wings I think Will should write for the Tigers. Id do it but Im too biased and opininated. besides everyone is already tired of my baseball stories. Will would do an excellent job
I already told Tim, that when the baseball site starts up, I would like to cover the Tigers...that should be fun. So, Tim has me on the list for Tigers contributor. I think there will be much to talk about this off-season. Thanks again for the vote of confidence...its much appreciated. If Tim has a need for a Contributor for the Red Wings, I'll give that a try too. That sounds like some fun also. Thanks again to everyone who drops by this thread, thats what makes it work, and fun.
thats awesome Will, youll do a great job and look forward to your thoughts (and my lineups daily ). I already told Tim youd be great for the Wings and I know youll do a great job there too. Im sure hed love to have you on as a Wings contributor .....dont think becuase its the offseason you have nothing to write/talk about
Well, I heard today of the first interview for the skippers job with the Tigers and it was with Detroits own Lloyd McClendon. He said; 'The process went well'. Lloyd is the acting hitting coach, who's contract expires next week,...he was also the skipper for the Pirates back in 01-05', I believe. Tigers to hold many more interviews, I would suspect.
I was thinking Guillen - but not Ozzie. Instead I was thinking Carlos Guillen. Thinking out of the box. My choice is to bring back Alan Trammell, the current bench coach for the Diamondbacks. Trammell was not given much to work with during his managerial stint with the Tigers. And when the Tigers finally assembled a team, Jim Leyland took over. I would prefer Kirk Gibson, but he is staying in Arizona. Trammell has more experience now and I think that he would be eager to prove that he can manage the Tigers. Just my $0.02.
Trammell is not a bad choice at all, and your right, he did have a lousy situation, and very little experience when he was around the first time. Im sure he will probably get some concideration. Whoever steps in, is going to be getting a really good baseball team this time around.
Los Angeles Dodgers third-base coach Tim Wallach interviews with Detroit Tigers for open managerial position. Wallach played for the Montreal Expos when Detroit Tigers general manager Dave Dombrowski was the general manager there.
I remember Eli Wallach for the Montreal Expos. Got curious and googled his name and found out they are one in the same. I've also noticed a "strange" phenomenon. Many of the managers being hired these days were players that I watched. Now I know that I am getting older.
