Mister Fister pitched eight innings without allowing an earned run on Friday night, and Alex Avila's two-run double in the fifth was all the support he would need in the Tigers' 2-1 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies. Fister allowed three hits and a walk. The Phillies have scored only 10 runs during their six-game losing streak. They'll have a challenge to snap out of it, as Max Scherzer going for win #15 will get the nod for the Tigers opposite Raul Valdes, filling in for an injured Cliff Lee on Saturday at Comerica Park. Lee has soreness and stiffness in his neck. I think he's just scared.
I really like Fister, hes solid. he gets so little run support its ridiculous. he almost has to have games where no more than 1 run is scored on him for the W. Im still worried about JV. nice to see Avila finally making some contact/impact in a game. Vmart has come around now if Alex can start making contact like he did his rookie year
He must be dating a Hollywood Hottie or something. He is still throwing smoke at 99mph, but man, he's getting hit pretty hard lately. A bad JV is still pretty good though...
Prince of comedy you are not. No one is Smyling from here to Albuquerque.next time Brayan your A game
Max celebrates his birthday with his 15th win, 10-0 over Philly. Tigers now 13 over for the first time this season. Cleveland keeps pace with a 1-0 win against Texas.
Right-hander Rick Porcello is looking to help the red-hot Tigers keep rolling as they seek a series sweep of Jonathan Pettibone and the Phillies on Sunday.
so much for recovery time, this guy is just sick flat out. best hitter IMO Ive seen in my lifetime. hits for power, average, all spots on the field even the off speed junk throwers cant fool him. not to mention his opposite field power is something to behold. Ill be glad to say when his career is over I watched one of the best all around hitters to ever play
another great thing about Miggy is he always seems like hes having so much fun. like a little kid out there, just like its supposed to be. of course when you have Triple Crown numbers every year its hard not to be
