The Rays and Rangers will play a 1 game playoff tonight to see wich team plays the Indians in the Wildcard game. Game # 163, if you will. So, there is a baseball game tonight, with a lot riding on it.
The times have been set for the Tigers and A's series; First pitch Friday for Game 1 of the ALDS is set for 9:37 p.m. Eastern time with first pitch Saturday for Game 2 set for 9:07 p.m. Both games are scheduled to be broadcast on TBS. Im nervous already. These A's are pretty good. Going to be a battle.
Tue. October 1 8:07 p.m. Cincinnati at Pittsburgh TBS. Go Reds! I would love to see a Reds Tigers World Series.
Indians are toast Im nervous about the A's too, very underrated, well coached and have some real momentum going into the playoffs. We have the horses though and no one - and I mean no one can touch our staff in a 5 or 7 game set. My biggest and really only concern is the bats and Smyly's inexperience. Al Al has been very inconsistent thats also a concern but those are miniscule compared to what most teams have going in. Ill take my chances. GO TIGERS!!!!
Tigers flying out to Oakland today, will work out at the coliseum. Tigers taking some extra precautions to keep Oakland from stealing some signs. Jim Leyland said there wasn't any funny business going on the last time the two teams met, but he seemed to indicate that the Tigers have taken some added precautions anyway. The chess game has already started, it seems. Sure am tired of waiting for this series to get started...nearly a week off seems to be a bit much, especially how the weather can change in Michigan at the drop of a hat. Wonder if Peralta gets any action in left field, and i hope he still can bring a bat to the party.
Reds and Tigs wouldve been good. when I was a kid I really like Concepcion, Morgan, Rose and Bench and of course Sparky. I like when they do well and that wouldve been fun to see
Sounds like 2 evenly matched ball clubs. Should be a hell of a series. I like the Tigers pitching, but Im still a little on the nervous side. Pittsburgh and St.Louis start tonight, along with the Dodgers and Braves series. I think all the playoff series in both leagues are going to be very entertaining.
I like the Cardinals and Dodgers to come out of the NLDS, and that Cards and Pirates thing ought to be pretty good. In the AL, Tigers and Red Sox would be awesome. I think Boston has too much for the Rays. If I get my wish, the Tigers will be in the World Series against the Dodgers...although a Cardinals rematch would be nice too, and wouldnt surprise me. The Cards no when to turn things up at just the right time. I was rooting for the Indians to beat the Rays and see the Tribe play the Sox, that didnt happen. Seems like its taking forever to get the ALDS's started. The break should be doing good things for Cabrera. I know the pitchers will be ready to go.
Cardinals pounded the Pirates, 9-1...and the Dodgers blasted the Braves, 6-1. Thats a couple of lop-sided scores for you.
Finally, its Tigers game day. Beat those stinkin' A's. I'll be sure to post the lineups when they become available. Go Tigers!
Here's Game #1 Starting Lineups: 1. Austin Jackson (R) CF 2. Torii Hunter (R) RF 3. Miguel Cabrera (R) 3B 4. Prince Fielder (L) 1B Scherzer 5. Victor Martinez (S) DH 6. Alex Avila (L) C 7. Lets Go Tigers! Man, its about time. Hope Cabrera is on his game, and the break did him some good. Tigers should be able to hit Colon...hope they get to him early and often. Should be a great series. First pitch at 9:35ish.
What a game! When the Tigers scored 3 in the first, I had the feeling they were going to cruze. Man, thank goodness for Max, unbelievable pitching performance. First blood goes to the Tigers. Now they get to face a pretty good pitcher in Verlander.
