Detroit put up a fight today but end up losing in 13 innings by a final score of 13-10.

Pirates-Tigers PPD; split doubleheader Sunday

Saturday's Pirates-Tigers game at Comerica Park was postponed due to the threat of inclement weather in the Detroit area and was rescheduled for Sunday at 6:10 p.m. ET as part of a split doubleheader.

The first game will start at 1:10 p.m.

 

Pirates up 1-0 in the 2nd inning.

 

Pirates clinging to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 5th inning.

 

Pirates still up 1-0 thru 6 innings.

 

Pirates still holding onto a 1-0 lead over the Tigers in the bottom of the 8th inning. Detroit is running out of chances. Tigers need to do something soon.

 

After quite the slugfest Friday, the Pirates have scored the lone run. Top of the 9th inning. Tigers need a hold and then do something in the bottom of the 9th.

 

Pirates make a 1st inning run hold up as they win the furst of a double-header by a final score of 1-0. Michael Fuller pitches 8 strong innings but takes the loss.

 

Detroit will see if they can avoid being swept by the Pirates to start the season.

 

Tigers up 2-0 in the middle of the 2nd inning.

 

Harrison and Marte hit home runs in the top of the 3rd inning and take a 3-2 lead.

 

McCann ties the game at 3-3 in the bottom of the 4th inning.

 

Pirates retake the lead 4-3 in the top of the 5th inning.

 

A wild pitch extends the Pirates lead to 5-3.

 

A base hit and the Pirates lead 6-3.

 

Good grief! The Pirates hit a 2-run HR and now lead 8-3.
