I hope so, Im very skeptical. Ive watched him give the game away sooooo many times that its it pains me every time his name is called - literally. feel like my Todd Jones ulcer starts to resurface every time
Tigers start a series with the Red Sox... 1. Austin Jackson (R) CF 2. Torii Hunter (R) RF 3. Prince Fielder (L) 1B 4. Victor Martinez (S) DH Fister (11-7) 5. Andy Dirks (L) LF 6. Omar Infante (R) 2B 7. Don Kelly (L) 3B 8. Alex Avila (L) C 9. Jose Iglesias (R) SS 1. Jacoby Ellsbury (L) CF 2. Shane Victorino (S) RF 3. Dustin Pedroia (R) 2B 4. David Ortiz (L) DH Lackey (8-11) 5. Daniel Nava (S) LF 6. Mike Napoli (R) 1B 7. Jarrod Saltalamacchia (S) C 8. Stephen Drew (L) SS 9. Will Middlebrooks (R) 3B[/*] Another makeshift lineup from the skipper. Looks like Cabrera must really be feeling it. Dirks behind Martinez ought to get him some good pitches to hit. Martinez is smoking hot right now, they might pitch around him and take their chances with Dirks. Hope he makes them pay. Todays game is a 1:35 start.
I really thought Wil Middlebrooks was gonna develop into a good power hitter who could hit for average, hes stunk it up bad this year. at one point he was supposed to be the heir apparent when that toolbad Youk left......or not
he is my Don Kelly, hes a gamer and makes his at bats count. I really think if he bats leadoff hed go gangbusters, at this point you dont switch things up but he makes every at bat count. hes a good opposite field hitter, good at the drag bunt and has decent speed(not as fast as AJ). wasted at bats especially at the leadoff spot are the worst. we havent had a true leadoff hitter since forever, Gary Pettis comes to mind and that was 20 years ago
I like Dirks. I think he's going to be one of those players that gets better and better. I watched him play often here in Toledo, and you just new he had what it takes to go far in the bigs. He's going to be good for a long time. AJ is getting better. To bad he couldnt morph into a Ricky Henderson.
Great game for Fister and the Tigers. 3-0, final. Veras with the save. Heard Miggy took BP today and hit extremely well. He should be back Wednesday.
I only made one Hens game this season. So other than TV occasionaly, I havnt seen them much. I mostly go to the Walleye games now. In the past, I used to go regularly to the Hens games. McCann and Costellanos are going to be part of the future with the Tigers from everything Ive heard. They seem to be untouchables when trades are brought up with the Tigers org.

Interesting stat. The Tigers have gone 10-2 without Cabrera in the lineup. Thats picking up the slack for your mates.
