DETROIT -- Detroit Tigers designated hitter Victor Martinez was ejected in the middle of an at-bat in the third inning Saturday by home plate umpire Mike Everitt. Two innings later, manager Brad Ausmus and hitting coach Wally Joyner were ejected. Then J.D. Martinez was ejected after striking out in the sixth inning in this game against the Los Angeles Angels. The ejections stemmed from frequent complaints by Tigers hitters about Everitt's low strike zone. Victor Martinez took exception to a called strike by Everitt and backed out of the batter's box as he argued his case. After getting tossed, Victor Martinez was incensed and had to be restrained by Ausmus and J.D. Martinez. Once in the dugout, Victor Martinez threw his batting helmet onto the field. He had two bats in his hands but thought better of tossing them on the field as well. Two innings later, after Ian Kinsler was called out on strikes, Everitt ejected Joyner, who was apparently yelling from the dugout. Joyner marched onto the field followed by Ausmus, who was quickly ejected. J.D. Martinez was the least demonstrative of the four Tigers ejected. He was walking away after being called out on strikes when he was tossed for the first time in his career. Bench coach Gene Lamont is serving as acting manager. Ausmus has been ejected 10 times as a manager, most recently on May 16. Wally Joyner has only been ejected twice as a coach. His only other ejection was in 2008. (Mlive)

LA Angels 5, Detroit 0 at Comerica Park LA Angels Record: (56-74) Detroit Record: (69-61) Winning pitcher - Tyler Skaggs (2-3) Losing pitcher - Anibal Sanchez (7-13)
Its not surprising that the Tigers have lost 2 of 3 to the Angels. LAA always plays the Tigers tough. Fortunately the Indians are losing to the Rangers by a 2-0 score.
Cleveland loses 2-1 to Texas so at least the Tigers don't lose ground. Detroit is still 5 games back in the loss column. And time is starting to run out. Time for the Tigers to make their move!
