For the 2nd day in a row, the Tigers grab a quick 1-0 lead on a Cabrera RBI (Cabrera doubled to left scoring Collins). Go Tigers!
Tigers have a 5-run 4th inning to take a 6-1 lead. The Mets get 2 runs back in the top of the 5th inning. Miguel Cabrera already with 3 RBIs.
The Mets are making things interesting by scoring 2 runs in the top of the 7th inning. Detroit needs to tighten up the defense.
Tigers hold on for a 6-5 victory over the Mets. Detroit keeps pace with Cleveland - who won 5-2 today in New York (Damn Yankees!).

Tigers' Nick Castellanos leaves game with fracture in left hand DETROIT -- Detroit Tigers third baseman Nick Castellanos left Saturday night's game after fracturing a bone in his hand, the team announced. Castellanos suffered a "non-displaced fracture of the fifth metacarpal in his left hand" when he was hit by a pitch from Mets starter Logan Verrett in the fourth inning. He stayed in the game and came around to score but he was replaced on defense the next inning by Mike Aviles. Castellanos, 24, has been the Tigers everyday third baseman since 2014. In 105 games this year, he was batting .286 with 18 home runs and 58 RBI. Recovery time for a fracture of this nature could be anywhere from 2-8 weeks. With Castellanos headed to the disabled list, the Tigers could turn to veteran infielder Casey McGehee, who has hit well in Triple-A Toledo. Tigers utility men Andrew Romine and Mike Aviles also have experience at third base. McGehee was removed from the Mud Hen's game at Indianapolis shortly after Castellanos suffered the injury. In 108 games in Toledo, McGehee is hitting .325 with an OPS of .833. McGehee has played 598 MLB games and logged more than 5,000 innings at third base in his career. He was the everyday third baseman for the Milwaukee Brewers in 2010 and 2011, and for the Miami Marlins in 2014.
