DETROIT -- Tigers catcher James McCann left Monday's game against the Pirates after a collision at first base. McCann ran into first baseman John Jaso while trying to beat out a ground ball to second base in the fifth inning. He seemed to turn while trying to get a foot on the bag as he collided, then went tumbling down the line. McCann was out and walked off the field under his own power. Jarrod Saltalamacchia replaced him behind the plate for the sixth inning.

Duel at PNC Park: DET@PIT, 12:35 p.m. Jordan Zimmermann's Tigers debut hardly could have gone better, as the right-hander -- who signed a five-year contract this winter -- allowed only two hits over seven scoreless innings against the Yankees last Friday. Now Zimmermann returns to familiar territory, facing a National League opponent, this time in Interleague play. He draws a tough matchup against Pirates righty Gerrit Cole, who held Detroit to three runs and struck out 14 over 12 2/3 innings last season. 1. Ian Kinsler (R) 2B 2. Justin Upton (R) LF 3.
