Great job by the Tigers representatives at the game last night. Scherzer was perfect, and in the words of Rod Allen, 'I see ya big fella' cuz Miggy had a fine game, not only at the plate, but in the field. Leyland called a good game too...AL with the home field advantage for the World Series now.
well if we can make it to the Series we have home field, and thats a big advantage for the Tigers. Tigers represented very well last night
Making his third start back from the disabled list, Anibal Sanchez will take the mound for the Tigers when they face the Royals after the All-Star break. He will be opposed by Royals right-hander Ervin Santana in the first game of their three-game series Friday. This is a very important series to open the second half. Here's to the Tigers getting off to a good start.
as a side character and he was annoying as hell and didn't die in the movie. they should've saved hanks and tom sizemore and killed burns and the translator off! and vin diesel is the guy who dies saving the little girl in the village. no one knows that's him!
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Ervin Santana could be traded before the end of the month, and his superb effort Friday might make some contenders interested. Santana allowed two singles in 7 1-3 innings and the Kansas City Royals beat the Detroit Tigers 1-0 on Friday night to snap a five-game losing streak. The third-place Royals are seven games behind the first-place Tigers. Isnt easy shutting down the Tigers offense...good effort by Sanchez also.
Tigers ace Justin Verlander took a no-hitter into the seventh inning last Sunday, and he'll look for a series-evening outing against right-hander Jeremy Guthrie and the Royals on Saturday at Kauffman Stadium.
Salvador Perez drove in three runs and Moustakas went 3 for 4 with a game-winning home run to lead the Kansas City Royals to a 6-5 victory over the Detroit Tigers and Verlander. Justin falls to 10-7 now. The Twins helped the Tigers by beating Cleveland again, this time 3-2. The Tigers maintain a 1 1/2 game lead over the Tribe. Game 3 today has Fister (7-5, 4.02) vs. Shields (4-6, 3.21). Game time 2:10. Tigers need this one in a big way, but against shields it wont be easy...
Miguel Cabrera's 31st HR and Dirks 7th helps the Tigers win 4-1 today. Mister Fister pitches very well and improves to 8-5. Tigers are 53-44 overall now and are still only 1 1/2 up on Cleveland who won big against the Twins 7-1. Detroit travels next to Chicago to take on the Sox tomorrow. Scherzer (13-1) takes on Sale (6-8) in a dual between AL All-Stars.
I swear every time we win the Indians do and vice versa, we can never seem to get space between us and them
Sure is working out that way so far. Im just glad that head to head against them the Tigers have been doing well. When does the yearly collapse of the Tribe begin? Might just have a race to the wire this season...that would be something else. I guess they go as their pitching goes...wich can be said for anybody, I guess.
its just like when we were neck and neck with the Twins for a few years, very frustrating because unlike back then we have a much better team now - atleast on paper. hell we have the best team in the league to me......and thats not being a homer also I hate the Twins ten times more than the Indians. I love it when they suck - kinda like right now *DANCE*
I live somewhat in the middle of Indian country. Granted there are a good amount of Tigers fans, but I get to hear it everyday from their fans on how they WILL unseat the Tigers this year. While the Tigers haven't really had a big hot streak, I don't think we can expect it until Fister, Porcello, and dare I say JV start getting consistent QS. It also doesn't help that Avila is pulling an Adam Dunn minus the HRs.
Yea...I live in Toledo and I hear from my share of Indians fans too. Cant blame em for being excited, I guess. They are still in the thick of things. Gotta give them credit for being where their at...their playing decent ball. Seems like everytime the Tigers hit the 10 games over .500 mark, they run into trouble. I agree with you on the Tigers pitching...they havnt been nearly as consistant as I expected them to be at this point, even JV. He flirts with a no no one outing and then gets hit pretty hard the next. I heard he changed something in his machanics (dont know why) and is working things out. Nice to see him hit 96mph on the gun last outing. Still waiting for everything to come together for Detroit. Their good now, I just think they have the potential to be alot better. Wouldnt that be cool?
