lol. not sure if u know this or not, mlmeng, but the whole dominate thing is a joke. it goes back to cBS, when a 'gentleman' [sic] started a thread titled "The Western Conference is DOMINATE" (his caps, not mine). it's taken on a life of its own since then hey, Bad A55 Neocons - this bud's for u *DRINK* *HIGH* *DRINK*
lol, correct away... thats how i learn. My mistakes have been highly ecucational. I just wish the process didnt get me in trouble. You are absolutely correct - it is duel not dual... im still a work in the learning process.

Does anyone believe that the Tigers finish don't finish under 0.500? Does anyone think that the Tigers finish no worse than Jim Leyland's worst Tigers record (74-88 in 2008)? That is 12-14 for the remainder of the season. Does anyone believe that the Tigers won't finish in last place in the division?

I think they are a lock for last place and a sub .500 record. As far as Leyland's seasonal record, thats a close one, might even be a tie. Just a horrible, forgettable season, especially coming out of Spring training and starting the regular season so well. I just dont think this club is even in the right frame of mind to go a 162+ game season and keep a good attitude. They all look like their just going through the motions out there instead of playing hard and having fun.

From; Mlive, DETROIT -- Steven Moya will get some playing time. But he will not be a regular. Moya will be in the starting lineup here and there and will be used as a pinch hitter off the bench, but he will not get the bulk of the playing time in left field for the Detroit Tigers. "He'll get a handful of starts," Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said. "I wouldn't say he's going to be in there every day." The Tigers promoted four players from Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday: infielders Josh Wilson and Jefry Marte; left-handed relief pitcher Ian Krol; and Moya. Moya is the only one of the four who hadn't already played for the Tigers this season prior to being promoted. The Tigers also designated the contract of outfielder Daniel Fields for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster for Wilson. Ausmus said there won't be any major changes to the lineup involving any of the September call-ups. "The guys that have been here all year, they're still going to get the bulk of the playing time," he said. Moya hit .240 with 30 doubles, 20 home runs, 74 RBIs and a .703 OPS for Triple-A Toledo this season. That OPS is low mainly because Moya struck out 162 in 126 games. (That's a strikeout in almost one-third of his 500 at-bats.) Ausmus was asked if Moya fits the bill as an all-or-nothing offensive player who will always hit for power but always strike out a ton. "Well, I mean, that's what it looks like right now," Ausmus said, "but that doesn't mean it can't change." Some notes on some other decisions the Tigers made regarding call-ups: Michael Fulmer Fulmer was the Eastern League Pitcher of the Year and pitched extremely well for Double-A Erie after the Tigers obtained him in a trade for Yoenis Cespedes. "He maxed out his innings in his last outing in Double-A, so he was off the books," Aumsus said. "He went like four innings his last outing, so that was it." Fulmer went 10-3 with a 2.24 ERA and pitched 124 2/3 innings this season. Wynton Bernard Bernard, an outfielder, had an excellent season for Erie. He hit .301 and finished the season with 161 hits and 43 steals. "He was discussed," Ausmus said. Daniel Fields Fields made his major-league debut June 4, but he didn't have a good offensive season at Toledo. He hit .228 with a .701 OPS in 122 games. The Tigers designated Fields for assignment to make room for Wilson, but Ausmus said Fields was considered to be among the call-ups. Ausmus was asked what held Fields back this season. "It's hard for me to say," he said. "I haven't been down there. Between our scouts, front office people, coaches and managers from Triple-A, (we) kind of have to go off what they say." Josh Wilson The move to call up Wilson, which could cost the team Fields, seems a bit strange. But it seems unlikely the Tigers would be carrying both Wilson and Dixon Machado if Jose Iglesias were not out of action with a broken right middle finger. "Just because we need another middle infielder," Ausmus said when asked about Wilson. "Iggy's not going to be able to play for a little bit. To have the ability to replace a guy like (Ian) Kinsler in a lopsided game or even if Kinsler's not playing, like the other day, just pinch hit him and get him out rather than having to put him at second base, as much as he's played." The total Of the 40 players on the 40-man roster, just four of them are not with the Tigers: Those four are Bernard and right-handed pitchers Angel Nesbitt, Guido Knudson and Shane Greene. Greene is out for the season after undergoing surgery. Pitchers Daniel Norris and Anibal Sanchez are on the disabled list and Iglesias is sidelined by his broken finger. Ausmus was asked whether the roster was on the large side based on his preferences. He said yes. "From a position-player standpoint, it's not that high," he said. "From a pitching standpoint, it is. But we're in a position where we needed pitching."
It was the Rajai Davis show tonight. 8-7, Tigers win. 5 hours and 3 minutes in front of a crowd of 217.
Just saw this from a friend on Facebook: http://www.yardbarker.com/mlb/artic...oing_to_hire_ron_gardenhire/s1_11033_19495948 I like the thought. For one, he's always been a players manager. And 2, he does the little things and isn't afraid of small-ball.
I think its an upgrade, but how accurate is this 'DSR'? Ive been hearing Ron's name pop up from time to time, but just havnt heard anything from the Tigers if Ausmus's job is in jeopardy. CBS even posted a story that Ausmus is on the hot seat, but the only thing ive heard at all is GM Avila sorta backing Brad, so i dont really know what to make of any of this. To be continued... for sure.
i had never heard of the detroit sports rag before today. after spending a few minutes looking at their front page, i sincerely hope i never hear of them again.
Thanks for the info. Ive heard of them a few times, but never seen it before. I have also heard they like to be 'creative'.
