What your doing right now Im sure would be great. Maybe include your opinions on the matchups. Your a smart fan and I'm sure you will do just fine. PM Tim and let him know your thinking about it. I think he'd like to hear from you. Good luck bro *THUMBSUP*
Thanks...I think I'll talk to Tim, like you said. I have a few questions. Hockeybob, and Lulz should do something, also. They are very knowledgable of things hockey. There are a lot of knowledgable fans in the 'Ditch', and all throughout the m-n-c site. I enjoy the reading.
Twins beat the Tigers 6-3. Phil Cike gets sent down to Toledo after the game. He can be recalled back up when rosters expand on September 1st.
Bonderman and Coke dont belong on a major league roster, especially one that has a chance at a ring. Morneau mustve heard me calling him out, thats the best game hes had all year - thanks Justin. hope the Twinkies enjoyed the pitching matchups they had yesterday, they seen the worst of the staff. Sanchez is no Porcello(thank god) and Benoit and Smyly are rested. Kevin Correia has a nice complement of pitches but his fastball is weak and hes easy to get to, as evidenced by his last outing where the lowly Sox tagged him for 5 earned in 7 innings. Tigers wont lose today
Miggy still in the lineup. Guess he hurt himself a bit, swinging in the 9th inning last night. Glad he's good to go. 1. Brian Dozier (R) 2B 2. Chris Herrmann (L) RF 3. Justin Morneau (L) DH 4. Ryan Doumit (S) C 5. Chris Colabello (R) 1B 6. Trevor Plouffe (R) 3B 7. Clete Thomas (L) CF 8. Wilkin Ramirez (R) LF 9. Pedro Florimon (S) SS 1. Austin Jackson (R) CF 2. Torii Hunter (R) RF 3. Miguel Cabrera (R) 3B 4. Prince Fielder (L) 1B 5. Victor Martinez (S) DH 6. Andy Dirks (L) LF 7. Omar Infante (R) 2B 8. Jose Iglesias (R) SS 9. Bryan Holaday (R) C[/*] Correia (8-9) vs Sanchez (11-7)
Tigers 7-1 winners, behind Torii's and Cabrera's hitting. Cabrera up to 123 RBI, now. Tigers are 74-52, 5 1/2 up on Cleveland. Cabrera isnt bad, even playing hurt. Should the Tigers sit him down for a few days?
Jim Leyland said the tentative plan is for Avila to play four games for Toledo to help get his timing back. Avila has been on the disabled list with delayed concussive symptoms since Aug. 11. The Tigers were down to one healthy full-time catcher on Wednesday night against the Twins after Brayan Pena, Detroit's starter for the past week and a half with Alex Avila on the disabled list, fouled a ball off his right big toe during Tuesday's game.
I say rest Cabby, dont risk anything. hes amazing - even when hes not healthy hes awesome. hes critical to our success so I say dont take any chances. time for Prince to get into that cleanup spot and start mashing like he should. 19 homers at this point in the year is not what I was expecting
Agreed. Atleast give him a day off, either before a team day off, or just after. Two days might be good for him. Cabrera probably makes his own schedule, and isnt coming out till HE says so. I read Leyland was contemplating DHing Cabrera and giving Martinez a few games at 3rd base, but he dicided against it. Now Pena is injured and Avilla going to Toledo, Martinez might have to catch this weekend. Tigers are banged up. Its that time of year, I guess.
oooh, not sure how much I like an aging catcher with bad knees playing 3rd. I love VMart, hes probably my favorite Tiger but that may be too much for him. Maybe they can out Iglesias at 3rd, Infante at 2nd and Santiago at SS. DHing Cabby is a great idea, hate to take that bat out of the lineup. he changes the whole strategy for the other team just by taking AB's. Yep early game, curious to see what Leyland comes up with

I got side tracked...wont happen again...today. What in the world was Fielder thinking. Trying to stretch that into a double and Clete threw him out by a mile.
No problem...most of the time. Its been busy here today. I actually, completely forgot again. By the time I thought of it and tuned into the game, I missed the first inning. Ooops. 1-0, Twins. OK, thats all there going to get. Sometimes these rookies can fool you, because they havnt seen his pitches. Hopefuly the Tigers start to get to him the second time around.
