The crazy thing about Anibal this season is he gives up the HR's. Last year he gave up nothing, but this year, usually early in games, he's very predictable and seems to be off with the control. After a few innings he seems to settle down and get in a groove. I hope tonight is different and he has a solid start.
Price starts Friday and The Justin Verlander will make his season debut Saturday against the Indians. That is great news for the Tigers.
Alex Avila has been shut down for now after complaining of soreness in knee in Chicago. He underwent an MRI. Tigers awaiting second opinion.

I hesitated to post it in fear of crushing his spirit... then i said, ah, what the hell... crush away.
Tigers 6, Cubs 0: Anibal Sanchez shuts down Chicago to lead Detroit to third straight win DETROIT -- Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Anibal Sanchez didn't give up a home run Tuesday night. Actually, he didn't give up any runs. In what was arguably his best appearance this season, Sanchez threw 7 2/3 shutout innings of six-hit ball to lead the Tigers a 6-0 win over the Chicago Cubs in their interleague series opener at Comerica Park. On the heels of an eight-game losing streak, the Tigers have now won three straight to pull within three games of the first-place Kansas City Royals. They finished with 13 hits -- the third straight game they've reached double digits. Backed by a strong offensive and defensive performance from Rajai Davis, Sanchez finally ran out of steam in the eighth, but rarely found himself in trouble the previous seven frames, needing only 87 pitches to cruise into the eighth. Sanchez got two quick outs in the eighth inning, but allowed the next three batters to reach base. He was lifted in favor of Joba Chamberlain after walking rookie Kris Bryant to load the bases for Miguel Montero, who fanned on a full-count pitch. Sanchez, who has given up a league-leading 13 home runs this season, improved to 4-7 and dropped his ERA to 5.16. He struck out seven. Tigers' highlights ? It took the Tigers just three batters to get on the board when Miguel Cabrera singled home Davis, who led off the game with a double down the third-base line. Davis advanced to third on a passed ball and scored on Cabrera's comebacker. ? Cabrera's RBI single extended his on base streak to 27 games. It's the longest active streak in majors and his longest streak since reaching base safely in 32 straight games from July 20-Aug. 29, 2013. Cabrera's career long is 44 games. ? The Cubs came within inches of taking a 2-1 lead in the second when David Ross sent a deep shot to left field. But Davis scaled the wall and pulled back a two-run homer to keep Sanchez's shutout intact. ? Cubs right fielder Junior Lake attempted to score from second on Addison Russell's two-out single to left field in the fifth inning, but was gunned down at home by outfielder Yoenis Cespedes. Cespedes' throw beat Lake by several feet and rookie catcher James McCann applied a clean tag. There was no challenge. ? Making his 12th career start against the Tigers, Cubs starter Jon Lester was chased after just 4 1/3 innings. He gave up nine hits and five runs -- all earned. He struck out five and issued two walks. He threw 93 pitches, only 54 for strikes.(Mlive)
thats throwing darts, man did he look good yesterday. Good I can forget about the injury thing, now if Shane Greene can stop looking like Nate Cornejo.....

if Greene doesnt get sent down to work out the kinks, Ausmus needs to have his head checked. hes been absolutely awful for too many starts. Ill admit Ive only watched him pitch a few times this year and only seen one of his stinkers. Hes a location pitcher and the game I saw he looked stiff and there was no fluidity to his delivery, he seemed to be aiming pitches which is a huge no no. Dont ruin the kid Brad, send him down when JV gets here

DETROIT -- Miguel Cabrera's monster three-run homer into the camera well in center field at Comerica Park broke a scoreless deadlock, and left-hander David Price tossed a complete-game gem as the Tigers secured a 4-0 win over the Indians on Friday night. Cleveland starter Danny Salazar kept Detroit off the board through five innings, but he allowed singles to center fielder Anthony Gose and designated hitter Rajai Davis to lead off the sixth. After striking out Ian Kinsler, the right-hander offered a 93-mph belt-high fastball to Cabrera, who launched it over the center-field wall. "It's a joke," said Tigers third baseman Nick Castellanos. "It's a joke! I can't hit a ball that far from second base."
