Alfredo Simon is an interesting pitcher to me. He doesnt have great gas but has that splitter that offsets his lack of power but what I find strange is how bad he makes hitters look when he throws it. Ive found myself laughing a few times this year watching him throw it. its a great pitch if you can throw it consistent but he needs to work on is release point. The way he tucks the ball is what I think really gets the hitters off balance, you dont see it until the last second. he still walks too many and has been lucky he hasnt got burned much by it. Time will tell if his stamina tapers off like it always seems to do in the 2nd half Ive also seen enough of Nesbitt, not sure how the Tigers always manage to find fat pitchers(Jobba the hutt, Todd Jones, David Wells, Juan Berenguer) but hes a good story. his stuff isnt great but hes got good enough command that for short stretches he'll be productive. i like how he seems to really battle out there, hes not playing around and just hoping to get by. Nesbitt is very competitive and hes been a real asset for Ausmus so far
GAME INFORMATION Who: Detroit Tigers (26-18, 2nd in AL Central) vs. Houston Astros (28-16, 1st in AL West) When: 1:08 p.m. Where: Comerica Park in Detroit TV: Fox Sports Detroit Radio: 97.1 The Ticket and the Detroit Tigers radio network Twitter: Follow Chris Iott and Aaron McMann STARTING PITCHERS Detroit Tigers Anibal Sanchez (3-5, 5.60 ERA) Lifetime vs. Houston: 4-1, 2.15 ERA Houston Astros Roberto Hernandez (2-3, 3.99 ERA) Lifetime vs. Tigers: 8-7, 4.16 ERA GAME NOTES ? The Tigers enter Sunday with the chance to win their ninth series of the season. They took the first two games against Houston, winning 6-5 on Thursday and 6-2 on Friday, before dropping Saturday's game to the Astros 3-2. ? Anibal Sanchez will take the mound looking to bounce back from his outing on Tuesday in which he allowed seven runs on seven hits in 3 2/3 innings against Milwaukee. It was his fourth start this season he has allowed five earned runs or more. Sanchez has good numbers lifetime against the Astros, having only allowed 12 earned runs in 50 1/3 innings. ? Hernandez has been rather inconsistent this season. His ERA is near 4 and he is 1-1 in his last four starts, having given up 12 earned runs in 26 innings pitched. He earned the win Tuesday against Oakland but took a no decision in his start May 14 against Toronto after giving up four runs on six hits in 6 1/3 innings. ? Miguel Cabrera enters today with an 11-game hitting streak. He went 1-for-3 with a single and walk on Saturday against the Astros, striking out in the sixth and grounding out to shortstop in the eighth. Cabrera's batting average sits at a team-best .342. ? Tigers shortstop Jose Iglesias was ruled day to day with a left knee contusion after banging against Houston first baseman Chris Carter during a play in the third inning on Saturday. Iglesias, who has hit safely in 11 of his last 14 games, was later pulled in the fifth after reaching base on an infield single. ? For a team that has relied on base stealing this season, the Astros haven't done much of it this weekend. When Jonathan Villar was caught stealing in the fifth inning Saturday, it was the Astros' first attempted swipe of the series. Houston entered Thursday ranked first in the AL in stolen bases but has since been passed by the Tigers, now with 41. ? The weather forecast this afternoon in Detroit calls for sunny skies giving way to clouds later in the afternoon and temperatures in the mid to upper 70s. No chance of rain. you can come back from your trip now WIll not sure where you get the lineups from but I pulled this off MLive. Hope you got some good fishing stories
New series tonight... Opponent: Los Angels Angels Site: Angel Stadium of Anaheim Records: Tigers (28-20, 3rd in AL Central); Angels (23-24, 3rd in AL West) _______________________________________________________________________ Thursday: RHP Buck Farmer (season debut) vs. LHP C.J. Wilson (2-3, 3.36 ERA), 10:05 p.m., FSD _______________________________________________________________________ Scouting the Angels: The Angels are 11-11 at home this season, but Angel Stadium of Anaheim has been a nightmarish place for the Detroit Tigers to visit the past four seasons. Since the start of the 2011 season, the Tigers are 2-11 in games played in Anaheim. They went 1-3 there last season and did not win a game there the previous two seasons. The Angels haven't done much offensively this season. In the American League, only the Chicago White Sox (161) have scored fewer runs than the Angels (175). Mike Trout is hitting .297 with 11 home runs, 25 RBIs, eight stolen bases and a .929 OPS to lead the Angels. Third baseman David Freese leads the team in RBIs with 27 despite his .220 average and .266 on-base percentage. Albert Pujols is hitting just .235 with a .702 OPS but does have eight home runs and 17 RBIs. The Tigers have missed aces Dallas Keuchel and Sonny Gray in recent series and will not have to face Garrett Richards in this one. The Angels are fifth in the American League -- one spot behind the Tigers -- in team ERA (3.70). Closer Huston Street has been solid this season. He is 2-1 with a 2.41 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 14 saves.

Tigers pitcher Buck Farmer had a season debut to forget on Thursday, allowing seven earned runs on nine hits and one walk in five-plus innings while striking out one in his team's 12-2 defeat against the Angels. It was ugly from the beginning. Tigers still struggling offensively and with pitching... I think DD better make a move or something... what do you think?

Detroit L.A. Angels 8:05 pm Price (4-1) - 2.97 ERA Shoemaker (3-4) - 5.44 ERA Price needs to pitch well and the Tigers need to score runs or it will be yet another loss.
The Tigers are really starting to concern me. The starting pitching isnt quite cutting it and the offense, especially without a healthy VMart, is one of the worst ive seen right now. When you score 2 runs a game, you wont wim many of them. The circus act by Greene was something ive never seen before and i dont even believe it still. he had a 0.39 ERA just a month ago... then the wheels fell off. Dont now which Price shows up... Who or where is JV? What happened to Simon and why is there no more Lobster sightings? Who kidnapped A KNEE BALL? Can anyone outside of Cabrera hit on a regular basis? How many base running blunders can the Tigers pull off in a season? When do we blame Brad for some of this? Care to comment anyone? Am i outa line or can someone give me a hand while i throw these guy's under the bus?
