this guy will make a huge difference if he stays healthy, I look forward to seeing what he can bring....finally.....hopefully
Can you refresh my memory? I cant remember what happened to him. Would be nice to get this guy going... wasnt he in the upper 90's?
he had problems with his elbow, he was feeling a lot of discomfort and decided to have Tommy John surgery. Most guys come back just as good if not better and Im anxious to see where hes at. He was running it up t 99-99 repeatedly before the injury. he has major gas when healthy. From what Ive seen the flamethrowers tend to lose a mph or two after surgery but he'll still be throwing harder than just about anyone we have. what worries me is hes never thrown like 50 innings in a season if I remember right which is rare for a guy to get the majors as almost exclusively a closer/setup man but that speaks volumes to how hard he throws and his ability to miss bats. hes very intriguing to me, but guys like him tend to rise fast and flame out quick, think Zumaya and Matt Anderson
Saturday 3/7 1:05pm Justin Verlander (R) @ Braves - Shelby Miller (R) 1. Ian Kinsler (R) 2B 2. Anthony Gose (L) CF 3. J.D. Martinez (R) RF 4. Yoenis Cespedes (R) LF 5. Nick Castellanos (R) DH 6. Alex Avila (L) C 7. Hernan Perez (R) 3B 8. Aaron Westlake (L) 1B 9. Josh Wilson (R) SS Just Spring? I'm tuning in to see how JV does. Need him to bounce back in a big way... and i think he will.
Yes it is, I guess he's good to go. Yesterday, Iglesias slid into a bag and banged up his shin, but it was ruled a contusion and also ruled as not to be related to his past shin problems. Iglesias was out fielding some grounders this morning before team practice... that's a good thing too.
oooh, Iglesias CANNOT get hurt. hope hes ok, if hes fielding then today then it doesnt sound too bad. I feel like so many things can go bad for the tigers if everyone doesnt stay healthy. We cant afford to have any starters go down
Verlanders debut went like this... 1 H, 2 BB, 2 K's and 0 runs over 2 innings. He left after two with a 4-0 lead.
Iglesias hit by hard grounder in practice just a bit ago. Had to be helped off the field. It was on the leg, the same one he just injured. I'll post updates when available. He cant catch a break.
Unfortunately he catches all the [bad] breaks. If <won't even post it>, that significantly alters the Detroit Tigers 2015 season.
It would be terrible if he wasnt good to go. Im hearing that when he was helped off the field he was putting some weight on the leg, so that might be a good sign. Sure hope he isnt seriously hurt.
http://m.tigers.mlb.com/news/articl...-in-typical-ace-form-for-tigers-on-harvey-day I'm sure glad we have this guy - especially since Max Scherzer decided to become a National.
