It took some time for today's lineup to be posted. It's likely that Tigers manager Jim Leyland was waiting to receive an update on Miguel Cabrera, who was slow to get up in the 11th inning after he slid into first base Tuesday night. -- When the lineup was unveiled, Cabrera was penciled at third base, hitting third. Leyland said Tuesday night that Cabrera's shin, not his stomach, bothered him. That said, Cabrera is still recovering from a strained abdomen, too. -- Cabrera finished 0-for-5 on Tuesday night, snapping his four-game home-run stretch and 10-game hitting streak that saw him bat .432 with 12 RBIs. It was the first time he went 0-for-5 since Opening Day.

Good eye Just called up from Toledo. I think he's going to be Pena' backup while Avila is out for awhile.
how long is Avila out for, I gotta think bleeding out of the ear may be pretty damn serious. we HAVE to have him for the stretch run. I know a lot of people are down on him but he brings so many other things to the table that dont show up on the stat sheet. keeps runners at bay and handles the staff excellent
He's on the one week concussion DL and hopefully thats all the time he will miss. He's just resting at home for now. Thats the last Ive heard.
Got in just in time for Cabrera's 3-run blast. That bomb ties the game up. Wow! Porcello owes someone a steak dinner for that.
Tigers legend Al Kaline says 'Miguel Cabrera is the best hitter I've ever seen, by far'. That is pretty cool. Al knows baseball a little bit.
Good call...Tigers win 6-4. Big series coming up...5 games in 4 days against the Royals. Thats gonna be some fun. Double Header, Friday.
Guthrie (12-8) vs Sanchez (10-7), tonight at 7:08. Who would have thunk the Kansas City Royals would have one of the best pitching staffs in the AL? This is going to be a good series...Royals looking to make the playoffs this year. Detroit at home though, very tough to beat.
Cabrera is hitting .487 (38-for-78) with 12 home runs, 34 RBIs and a 1.474 OPS this season when he puts the first pitch in play.
as good as Sanchez has been I cant believe hes only 10-7, he had a couple rough outings but hes been stellar almost all year and his WHIP is very good to go along with a very impressive K's per 9
Thats some really good stuff from Sanchez, lately. That .189 opponents average is awesome. Looks like his success turned around against Kansas City. He might have their number. Hopefully he gets some run support tonight...early and often would be nice.
A day after Torii Hunter suggested that teammate Prince Fielder has been dealing with an off-the-field issue, a report surfaced that Fielder is in the process of getting divorced. I guess thats why his head hasnt been in the game, I know he's a better hitter than what he has done lately. Hopefuly he can get through this and get back to business as usuall with the Tigers. Jim Price eluded to this during yesterdays game, saying something like, Prince needs to block things out and not take it too work with him. Easier said than done, imo. Atleast we know now, he's not playing injured as some have speculated.
Austin Jackson with a day off: 1. Andy Dirks (L) LF 2. Torii Hunter (R) RF 3. Miguel Cabrera (R) 3B 4. Prince Fielder (L) 1B 5. Victor Martinez (S) DH 6. Don Kelly (L) CF 7. Omar Infante (R) 2B 8. Brayan Pena (S) C 9. Jose Iglesias (R) SS[/*]
