Ya, it's a shocker. It first broke on MLB.com at 4:05. It's the last thing i wanted to see when the words V-Mart were on the front page.

Now you have to pull Miggy off 1st to DH and Avila (who should probably retire) at 1st, were not going 5 deep in the order, hes arguably the best switch hitter in the game, most importantly hes my favorite player - this is hurting my head
On the bright side - The injury to his knee doesnt seem to be as serious as his first injury. If he is out just 4-6 weeks, he will still make Opening Day. If he cant quite go at that time the Tigers are really just going to have to scratch and claw their way untill he gets back. Some folks are talking about bringing in a FA, but I dont buy it. I think they will have to stay in house and just keep their heads above water. I also think the Central is going to be one hell of a race this season. Should be quite exciting. I dont see anybody running away with it and the competition from Cleveland, KC, even Minnesota and Chicago is much improved over last year. Even though it's a 162 game season, every game is going to be really important as I think it will go down to the wire.
Ide like to thank NBC's HBT for being wishy washy on this topic. Not entirely their fault, but the reporting from one day to the next seems to change stories. I dont know who to believe anymore outside of the 'horses mouth'.

Im not gonna lie although hes usually a DH hes one of the few hitters Ill watch the game just to see him. thats my guy, I think people dont realize what he brings to this team. the consummate professional, I tell my kid if you want to be a good ballplayer that the guy you watch - he does everything the right way
*YES* from everything Ive read and heard JV is really putting in the work. added 20 lbs of muscle and says he feels the best he has in years, of course coming home to this every night probably doesnt hurt
