  1. that's 2 more episodes of family guy than i've watched.

i understand lots of people think south park is really funny, and for all i know, it is. but 2 things about that show kill any chance of me watching it - the "artwork" [sic], and the voices.

as for family guy... i dunno if i'd have found it funny when i was 14 - but i don't now.

    I agree with this completely.

  3. FTR Lulz I spent a fair amount of time trying to find a Beavis one puking but had no luck. B & B was the last funny animated cartoon to me. nothing has come close since and probably never will

I really hope this doesn't result in even more injuries to Tigers players.

Certainly is an important aspect of the game that doesnt get much attention. Hopefully someone who is very competent out there gets wind of the opportunity and moves in.

Tigers success or anyones in general is dependent on getting and staying healthy.

  6. why didnt the Tigers pay him what he wanted. sounds like he was an excellent trainor, this could be a big problem with a veteran laden team. Hope this doesnt come back to bite us in the arse

I wonder is Max is re-thinking the Tigers' offer he turned down.

If you love it in Detroit Max, you can live very well for very long on $144 million.

He has to be a little, but I think he listens to his agent and needed to fish the waters and see what bites. Since no one is lining up to top the Tigers offer in a substantial way, he should pretty much know what to do, in my opinion, thats resign with Detroit. Sure hope it boils down to that.

$144M. I could get by on that.

  13. I think Boras is pulling his usual sh*t and asking a kings ransom, no reason this guy should be on the market this long. its freakin Jan 2 for gods sake! Stop trying to squeeze every last nickel out of teams Scott. That guy is a horrible player agent, if I was Max Id be like enough is enough. Not that a multimillionaire needs to necessarily worry about certain things but I would think with less than 2 months before catchers and pitchers report the guy would like to know where hes living and probably spending the rest of his playing days. Boras redefines selfish and greedy

Tick-tock! As time goes by, it seems to me that Detroit would become the more likely spot for Max. Scherzer is familiar with (and likes) Detroit. Going somewhere else on short notice can be done but would not allow much time to get accustomed to new surroundings.

Bullpen help: Tigers sign Tom Gorzelanny

From HBT; Left-hander Tom Gorzelanny has agreed to a one-year deal with the Tigers.

Gorzelanny began his career as a starter, but shifted (mostly) to the bullpen in 2012 and has a 2.88 ERA in 172 career innings as a reliever.

Gorzelanny missed the first two-and-a-half months of last season recovering from shoulder surgery, but was great upon returning to the Brewers in mid-June with a 0.86 ERA and 23/8 K/BB ratio in 21 innings.

He?s proven to be more than a left-handed specialist, so Gorzelanny could get some late-inning setup work in a Detroit bullpen that had all kinds of issues in 2014.

I like the signing. Looking for a lefty and nailed one with decent numbers.

  16. Gorzellany is a great signing IMO. hes a lefty who has the ability to go long relief, more importantly hes a lefty. Hes a vet and doesnt get rattled. decent stuff, nothing great powerwise but hes smart and has good control. this is a steal to me and Im suprised this guy was still out there. to be honest I thought someone had picked him up and I missed it. look for him to get a lot of miles here. depending on how good the bullie shapes up he may get a lot of 2/3 of an inning type of thing, I think he'll be a matchup guy and those are imperative to have. If the Tigers lose Putkonen Ill lose zero winks. hes a floater, I do think he'll get picked up due to his age and the league is smart enough to know that if he was good enough for D Brow then hes got something to offer.

Ive said this for a while and the longer this drags on the more I think Max will be back and I think the Tigers let Price walk. Price will be motivated in a contract year just like Max was and that turned out ok for us. I like Price but Im not Dombrowski, I think he likes Max more but I think he fills some ill will after Max balked at the Tigers offer - but not enough for him to circle back and make it happen. Boras is the real problem here not Max, remember that

  17. seen this on CBS, doesnt suprise me one bit. I had a feeling that was the teams thinking. Hope this comes to fruition

If Cabrera is not at 100 percent in time for opening day, that is bad news for the Tigers. If that is the case, hopefully Miggy gets back soon thereafter.

  19. its imperative that this guy comes back 100%, I think hes key to the success of the team. his glove is as good as any and his bat gives you lots of options at the bottom of the order. I really like this kid and cant wait to see him this year, he was most excellent a couple years ago

This is a welcome (and belated by 16 days) Christmas Gift if Iglesias can play a significant amount of time.
