your right Will, Zeid is an excellent pickup. hes the typical DBrow guy big and throws hard and I like that. He has a nasty slider and good fastball. He relies almost solely on 2 pitches and has the perfect closer makeup. Hes been compared to Octavio Dotel who spent some time here but when he was younger he was really fun to watch. He had a nasty slider. I like this pickup and the only reason I can see he was left exposed is due to having probably the best and deepest farm system when it comes to pitchers. I like this move
DD said today that signing Scherzer is a possibility, but it was much more possible previously. I dont like the sound of some of the things Im hearing. Makes me wonder if the Tigers are going to be much improved at all. I think they need to be.
dont tease me Will, Ive all but written off Scherzer coming back. but the longer this drags out the more I think its possible. I keep hearing the compensatory draft pick is a sticking point. Why would teams worry about that when you getting one of the best pitchers in the league. It would be great if Max came back
Seriously, by the tone from DD. I think he was prepping Tigers fans that it shouldnt be a surprise if Max doesnt play in Detroit. I read between the lines and it doesnt look good right now. I hope Im wrong, of course. I dont get why Im not seeing headlines that there are more teams in the hunt for him... kinda surprising.
Tigers are going to stick with Avila behind the plate for 2015. Probably after that season he will be allowed to walk in favor of Jim McCann.

I dont think the Tigers can be serious about moving any starters, but there is always the offer you cant refuse. It seems strange to me that Porcello and Prices' names are popping up when they are probably going to lose Scherzer. Starting pitching wasnt the problem, so I wish they would look elsewhere. Tigers look a little confused as to what direction they are actually headed. That might be just me tho.

Im happy this deal fell through and I hope it doesnt resurface. Im not a Cespedes fan. From mlive; They would have to throw in more to get me to even consider, but thats just me.

complete shocker with Lester, makes no sense whatsoever. guys like 30 or 31 and that team is really bad. He pulled a Carmelo and went for the $$$ is all I can think. and i think the possibility of max returning is the answer to why, as some have asked, would the tigers even be talking about shopping porcello or even price (ya, i know they've said they wanna keep him).
obviously Im the 'some people' and its a very valid question/concern. You dont shop anyone until Max signs, if his name isnt on the dotted line Porcello and most definitely Price arent going anywhere. I dont even entertain anything for Price .atleast that would be my approach
