Suarez are you freakin kidding me - from 10 feet away!!!! this guys sucks, hes been suck a joke since day one. hes not a major leaguer. cant bat, cant field and has his head up his arse on simple plays. unnacceptable
it did work out Will but cmon, theres no excuse for him to alligator arm a play that close. hes just damn lucky the runner didnt tag up
whew.....thank you God. freakin Todd Jones will always be here one way or another. few thoughts here. I would do what the Tigers have done, offer Scherzer and if he balks then let him ride it out. hes motivated and eager to prove last year wasnt a fluke. Well hes done that. I really like watching him pitch hes got a nice groove going and once he mastered that elusive slider he became money. he is really solid and will be missed if he leaves. I do think hes peaked though. weve seen the best of him, I really think he may only have another year at the top. also our defense sucks, theres a reason Suarez is in AAA and same for Carrera. They dont belong here yet but thats the hand weve been dealt. We mortgaged everything to get Price who has thrown more innings than anyone and has to be tired. hes a horse but even thoroughbreds get tired, that concerns me. Also Nathan cant be trusted, he just doesnt get it. hes too cocky and thinks hes something he no longer is. the sad thing is if he gets it out of his head he doesnt have to blow away hitters I think he'll do just fine. I think the fans in Detroit and any hitters he faces have got into his head. hes a head case and very shaky. his fastball has lot over a mile an hour on average yet continues to go to that well. Hes always had a good slider but doesnt throw it enough. late in games hitters are looking for the weak fastball its so obvious. he gets a lefty and goes all 2 seamers away which is the normal strategy but if you dont mix in enough sliders breaking in on lefties you dont keep them off balance. He has to get it into his thick head to stop trying to mow hitters down. doesnt sound like much but going from 94-95 with a fastball to 93-92 is all the hitters need to catch up to you. I never made it to the bigs but I can tell you that 94 in HS will clean house, when I got to college and started having shoulder and elbow problems I lost a good 3 mph and everyone started raking. I never developed a good offspeed pitch because I was stubborn and thought I could get everyone out with gas. Needless to say that was a horrible strategy. My coaches were right when they said if you dont figure out how to keep them off balance you wont go far.....and I didnt just a few thoughts/frustrations but we got the win and for that Im very thankfull
