Chicago up early on KC, 1-0. Seen that before, tho.

  3. jd martinez authors yet another dramatic comeback, only to watch nathan and carrera conspire to give it away.

royals up 5-4 in the top of the 7th.

  4. sox ride a bases loaded triple in the 7th to a 7-5 win over the royals. 1.5 game lead intact.

OK...thats it. I'm done with Nathan. He is going to get the Tigers killed. Someone has to be able to step in and close these games out. He has been given opportunity after opportunity and has completely failed. To top things off he has a very shiitty attitude and I've grown tired of his BS. I always have the utmost support for my favorite teams players, but I cant stand arrogant, cocky tudes from someone who cant even back it up.

This is an expression of how I have felt about Joe Nathan from the beginning. I have not posted much about him because I was hoping that Joe Nathan would prove me wrong.

I was hoping that Joel Hanrahan might be available at some point in the season. But the outlook for that is poor.

And now with Nitro 'blowing up in our faces,' I have much less confidence that the Tigers have a shot at the World Series.

  8. well, i'd like to give DD the benefit of the doubt, and figure this is why he got soria. now that soria's healthy, hopefully he's the answer.

Thanks to the Rangers. They blew up Doolittle in the 9th. Made him look silly.

I think this series starting tonight is the season for both Detroit and KC. This is going to be good.

15 years ago on Sept. 27 was the Tigers? last game ? No. 6,908 ? at The Corner. Brings back very fond memories that are still very clear in my head. I have that game on VHS. It's fun to watch from time to time.

  19. although Im not a big Avila fan catchers are very important to the success of a team. Hes decent (overrated I think) behind the plate but hes a gamer and the pitchers love him. He gives his all and comes to play every day. hes never fixed the hole in his swing but comes up with timely hits nonetheless. that being said watch out for this McCann kid. he has arguably the best arm in the minors for any catcher on any team and is the real deal defensively. His bat has always been the key to his success. hes got good size, is young and skies the limit with him. If he can stay away from the low and outside offspeed crap he'll do just fine. he has a cannon for an arm and is dart like accurate. not the time to break in a catcher though and this injury to Avila is very discerning. We need him especially with a team thats so heavy on pitching. Time will tell how much this hurts

Well said. I was just about to post something along those same lines. Kind of a tough spot for the rookie, but some guy's thrive on that. Hope he calls a good game and works well with JV. He hit lefty's well too.

Cant replace Avila's experience, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Breakout time for McCann.

The symptoms Avila is having is quite concerning to say the least.

I hear there has been a tweak in the lineup...be right back.
