Early on, his name was getting called very often...I was very pleased with his play. He was one of the brighter spots on the team last night. It looks like he's going to do well feeding the Mule and working with Nyquist too.
He wasnt afraid to go in the middle or take it to the net either, Im going to like that alot. He aint too bad defensively and around the boards either. Overall, a good start, and much needed to pilot that 1st line.

By almost all accounts (I haven't seen a good argument to the contrary), he gave up as much or more than MTL did for Vanek. Jarnkrok may not be much down the road, but he was the 3rd to 7th best prospect in the system and the best center in Detroit's system.

I think this trade, on its own and independent of everything else, it will go down as a plus but I don't like it in the multi year scheme of things. Still early and the extension should be interesting...if it happens (I consider it very likely).

 

What are they doing with Pulkinnen?

It looks like this was just a move to manage his recall limit after the deadline at this point.

 

Franzen had two goals and two assists; Nyquist had a goal and three assists; Legwand had a goal and two assists. Thats 11 points on 1 line...nice. I cant remember the last time thats happened. Red Wings win 7-4, Gustavsson is now 15-4-3. Good deal.

I think your right. After reviewing his stats, I want to see him play.

 

Watch him shoot. He's got a cannon. He's another high skill-low floor type in my opinion.

 

Red Wings' Jonas Gustavsson has more groin issues; Petr Mrazek recalled to back-up Jimmy Howard.

 

Legwand had a solid game last nite: 1 goal, 2 assists and 8 faceoff wins... doing it all. filling that Dats void nicely so far.
