Ryan Sproul was recalled from Grand Rapids to assure the Red Wings will have at least five defensemen for practice Tuesday. Im hearing Weiss and Kindl are still questionable.
Center Stephen Weiss (sports hernia surgery) and defenseman Jakub Kindl (sprained MCL) will not play the next two games. So far, so good with Franzen. He will be a game time decision or at least more will be determined about him after tomorrow mornings skate...then they will see how he feels.
I hope he's back for a while now and can stay healthy and contribute. I cant even remember seeing him play except for what may have been the first game of the season...or close to it. Im curious to see what he can do...they must have payed him that decent money for a reason. Wings need all the healthy bodies they can get together going down the stretch.

mlive... Nice to see Bertuzzi back in the lineup and I hope Datsyuk keeps up the pace he had in Russia. Franzen back is a plus also. Got to stay healthy and really get the A-game out of everybody...all four lines need to go well. Tonights game is on FSD for those of you within that network's reach. Gotta beat those Canadiens...big, big game to start things off.
psssstttt, will? we already have 22 consecutive playoff appearances. shouldn't it be the run for twenty-three?
I cant believe I did that. Not once, not twice, but I looked at that several times and didnt catch it. I could claim that I just wanted to see if anyone was paying attention, but that isnt the case. Good eye, Lulz. Im going to blame and fire my proof reader.
Good question, and Im just guessing Sproul or Glendening gets sent down. This is all the info I could find, compliments of mlive. Healthy scratches: Daniel Cleary, Patrick Eaves, Luke Glendening, Ryan Sproul. Injured reserve: Stephen Weiss.

Big Bert with #8, he should be good and rested. I think hes more important to a playoff run than most think. Ditto for the mule. so glad NHL hockey is back. looks like some beatable teams coming up Will, we need every point we can get. The 16th is circled on my calender
It was a nice goal. They left him parked right out in front of the goal...took a centering pass from behind the net and banged it home. He made some mistakes, but over-all, he had a nice game. It was good to see the Mule out there too. He had a couple good chances. I thought he looked good. It was nice to see some of the offense spread out over all four lines for a change. When the Wings put out their 4th, they had Nyquist out there sniping...it was good to see. The Wings hustled through out the game. It was crushing to give up the equalizer with just 20 seconds left, but the Wings regrouped and took care of business in the OT period. I liked what I saw in the second period when I think there was only 7 and a half minutes left before Montreal could get their first SOG that period. They were out hustling the Habs for the Lose pucks...a thing of beauty to behold. Dont forget they go right back at it tonight against the Senators, a team thats trying to catch them. Back to back, very huge games.
agree Will, I think this rest will reenergize the Wings. They still have some old horses and we need that experience come crunch time. Im not a Cleary fan but even he comes up big when it matters. We paid him all year for this stretch, time to earn your pay Danny
Bertuzzi is a healthy scratch, again. Coach Babcock said it was just because the team is playing back to back nights. Gustavsson is in goal for Howard.
