  1. hey Matty after my first few dates the wife said I was obnoxious and i play the music too loud. keep in mind we were 22. we went to different HS's but knew each other all the way back to 11th grade. We werent dating back then though and we ran into each other at a friends party and the rest is history. but the funny thing was when she seen me in HS she had absolutely no interest in me, when we seen each other years later she said I put on weight and much better - go figure. In HS I was 6'4 170, FF 5 years later I put on 50 lbs. Sometimes eating and being fatter pays off :) Ive mastered the art form at this point. Ill tell you my baseball story bomb I dropped on her at another time

The Wings are hoping Zetterberg can go tonight against the Caps...I havnt heard if he is for certain, probably a game time decision. Jimmy Howard will be back in goal.

Huge two games with the Capitals. Must battle and come away with points.

4-3 win for Detroit. Wings have won 3 of their last 4 shootouts.

I wish they could avoid them all together...but your right, their finally winning a few. The Wings and this playoff push the past few seasons has sure not been healthy on the central nervous system. Its driving me crazy...again.

Mike Babcock says he has no idea if Datsyuk is returning this week to play for the Wings before the Olympic break or not. Says, Datsyuk is still hobbeled on his knee during practice. Also read that the Wings have no say as to wether Datsyuk plays in the Olympics. Just for the record, Dats did say he would be back for the Wings before the break...I hope thats the case, but he must be healthy before he plays. Knees can be tricky.

    Ansar Khan, mlive...

DETROIT ? Jonas Gustavsson will be in goal tonight for the Detroit Red Wings when they host the Vancouver Canucks (7:30, Fox Sports Detroit) in the last game at Joe Louis Arena until March 6.

The only other lineup change from Sunday is on defense, where Brian Lashoff replaces Brendan Smith.

Pavel Datsyuk will miss his 14th consecutive game with a knee injury but said he still hopes to play in one or both games before the Olympic break after tonight ? Thursday at Florida and Saturday at Tampa Bay.

Datsyuk, who is Russia?s captain for the Olympics in Sochi, said he still hopes to play in the event but was vague about whether he would participate if he can?t play at least one game beforehand.

?I don?t know,? Datsyuk said. ?I?m just trying to make sure I play one or two games (before). That?s my goal now.

He added, ?I?m not thinking about (Olympics) now. I?m thinking about coming back to our team and helping our team.?

  17. damn, so much for smith taking the opening faceoff.

  18. ps: MLive owns. if you're a wings fan and don't read it, i gotta figure you're either unaware of them, don't read anything from any source about the team, or you're straight-up dopey ;)

seriously, to me there's no one close in their coverage of the wings. khan and savage kick ass.
