Detroit Red Wings

Spare me. Just when I'm ready to move away from wanting Detroit to suffer in favor of STL, I read this junk. The single biggest beneficiary of the previous alignment and still claiming hardship.

 

imo, the report states their relieved to not have to travel so much. I dont think their claiming any more hardship than anyone else...just being grateful for less travel. Nobody, or any team, likes traveling cross continent, and that kind of fluffier schedule has to be some kind of relief. They have traveled a lot, but your right, their not the most traveled in any stretch of the imagination.

5 in a row at home, we gotta come away with atleast 6 points - and Im not talking by losing in OT. This next stretch will tell a lot about the Wings mettle. Yeah they have injuries but good teams find a way to win. Some very good teams coming to town and its not gonna be easy but we lose too many more games were gonna fall out of the playoff picture. Gotta go no less than 3-2 here.

Me too. I think the Wings will play very tough and matchup well tonight. Daren Helm is back in the lineup, and the Wings are playing better hockey in general as of late. I like the team speed...I think their getting better in that regard and better at being able to plug guys into the lineup.

Im sure the Wings would just love to help the Hawks out too. Pressure can be a good thing. Keeps the intensity up. Blues and Wings usually play some pretty exciting games. Both teams have a lot riding on this one tonight.

Howard being called day-to-day by Babcock. Tweaked his bum knee last night. Wings looked over matched against the Blues.

 

The Blues cheated. I was not happy with Detroit.

 

I was looking at Detroit's lineup, what is the 23 man going to look like after the olympics?

 

Man, I sure hope they get healthier. At the rate their going, the Olympics might kill them. Their turning into the GR Griffins right before our eyes. On one PP shift for the Blues last night, three Wings went to the bench hobbled. Its really a shame...they just cant fully compete lately the way things are. Im not trying to make excuses, but their losing a lot of offensive fire power lately. I wish they were taking a break instead of sending so many over to the Olympics.

a pic w/ my buddy Carl in it from his Wings days. He's in the back of this group, right hand shot little guy last face you can see. He was in the system for 1 year and assured that he'd be brought up if there were injuries. He lead Grand Rapids in scoring and was never called up. Wings won the Cup that year so no complaints about the way they ran things. If he was called up he would've gotten a ring though. Showed me a couple of drills that the Wings used that I would then use w/ my H.S. team. We named them the Datsyuk and the Lidstrom.

the Wings looked awesome against the Blues, that may have been the worst game Ive seen them play all year. they had a 5 on 3 and managed 1 freakin shot - cmon. Thats great Howie is out now, he was playing so good and singlehandedly kept us in games. The hits just keep on coming. The Detroit Red Griffins
