Detroit Red Wings

Why do we want Bozak? He's a UFA and even though he has underperformed so many teams need centers he's likely to get overpaid on July 1st. I'm really not interested in overpaying for Bozak...... I don't like the Wings wasting cap space by overpaying for anybody including Filppula who wants a long term deal for 5 million a season. But that said I'd rather pay Fil 5 million before I'd pay Bozak 3.

 

As a Wings fan its nice to be on the other side for a change . Winning a series you werent the favorite for . Sure , the teams seemed pretty evenly matched going in. It wasnt David vs Goliath , but they were the lower seed .
Yes , some hockey people took the Wings to win going in . But win or lose, as Lulz said we were proud of how they played . If they can stop with all the defensive mistakes. The d-men scoring on Jimmy, we might have a chance against The Hawks . They looked pretty good out there and were really moving the puck well . Like the good old days of Red Wings hockey .
So here we go. Not as many people will take the Wings to beat Chicago . It will be fun and it will be nice to have one more Original 6 matchup against them.
I do think the Red Wings can do it . If Chicago is rusty Detroit might be able to capitalize , at the very least it could be a long series .

Zetterberg always seems to play his best hockey in April, May and June. I can't say I'm surprised

 

Howies contract is starting to look like a steal. Imagine how solid we would look if Lids played one more year, half the crap that happens in our end would be nullified. oh well, this team deserves so much credit. they have already overachieved to me and although the Hawks are waaaay better than Anaheim it sets up what Ive been wanting for weeks. A matchup for the last time(unless we meet in the Cup) against our bitter rivals. what better way regardless of what happens to end a looooooong time rivalry. GO WINGS!!!!

Seriously though... what a frickin roller coaster of a season. Short season or not it has been crazy. All I wanted though if we were going to make the playoffs is a Hawks-Wings playoff series. Let's hope this team competes

 

Im goin in the direction Mo went. I think not only do they compete better this round against a much better team I think it goes 7.......I wont say who wins it though

The Wings just played by far their best and most complete game of the playoffs today. What a fantastic win.

On the recap on CBS after game 1 I read a lot of things that bothered me. No, I didn't expect the Wings to win this series and although I'm praying to God I'm wrong I'll be surprised if they can beat this Hawks team 4 times. BUT.... to read some of the crap I read really bugged me a lot. "The Wings can't skate with the Hawks", "It's gonna be a great Hawks/Kings series".

Bla bla bla. What a massive win today. That's about as excited as I've gotten in a long time watching a hockey game.

I don't expect much from CBS anymore (not that I expected much to begin with). Their articles and analysis have always been bad so I wouldn't let too much bother you.
