Who is Ilitch going to transfer ownership to? It was on the agenda for the BOG meetings but I haven't seen anything about it. The meetings were a couple weeks ago. Who's going to run the team?
Redwings ownership transfer was on the agenda for the BOG meetings. http://www.tsn.ca/blogs/darren_dreger/?id=432255 That was more than 2 weeks ago. I haven't seen any reporting on it.
Almost forgot... Steel-N-Ice Live Game Talk is now open! http://steel-n-ice.com/games/livegames/gametalk.php
Bruins beat up on the Red Wings 4-1. Wings couldnt get much going offensively for much of the game. Played most of the game in their own end. ??Oct 2 BUF Won 2-1 (1-0-0) Oct 4 @CAR 7:00 PM W/OT 3-2 (2-0-0) Oct 5 @BOS 7:00 PM L 4-1 (2-1-0) Oct 10 PHO 7:30 PM Oct 12 PHI 7:00 PM Oct 14 @BOS 1:00 PM
Not going to cut it. The Wings say they are working on that, and are going to get the puck down deeper and do more work from the inside. They reall, imo, have the firepower to be pretty good on the PP, so something must be wrong with the scheme.
For people saying Chicago is copying Detroit, Chicago's pp would help support that claim. The Hawks' only goal was on a ridiculous bounce off of the boards that baffled Bishop and he was out of the net. Hawks pk already yeilded 4 ga.
It boggles the brain, that two teams with such success can be so lousy on the PP. One of the many impressive things from last years Hawks team, was the fact they could win it all, without any help from a deadly PP. 5 on 5 must be where its at. I still think they should stop allowing PK units the privlege of icing the puck. More goals should be scored on the PP's. Teams playing against teams that have a week PP unit like Detroit and Chicago, arnt really too concerned to take a penalty, because the other teams attack is so weak. I remember a few years back, when the Wings had the Russian 5 and the like, teams really were penalised when Detroit went on the PP. They could send 2 lines out that could bury the puck. I miss that...and so do they.
Defense is certainly ahead of offense in the NHL. It is interesting how bad Chicago and Detroit and Boston continue to be on the pp.
Andersson is a stiff.he doesnt pass worth a crap, skates like hes in his socks and his shot is a joke. you put guys like that on the wing to limit their deficiencies. this line is destined for failure. 3 guys that are slow and no one passes, although Bert has a good eye finding the open man. Dats brought out the best in him when they played together
I dont think they will be together long, unless they somehow get it together. Coach Babcock will simply be forced to break up that line. Coaches like juggling lines anyway. Thursday might be the last game for them together.
Im talking about who Id like to have on my team. I think Id go Datsyuk over Malkin......tough one there. I usually rub people the wrong way these arguments. The Bergeron vs Spezza argument w/ Sensarmy was about 4 years old before cbs took away the boards.
I don't like Malkin as much as Datsyuk but I have to take him over Dats by a pretty solid margin. Sid, Test tube, and Stamkos are a clear top 3 to me and I don't consider that a knock on Datsyuk. Too bad he wasn't bigger.
Now, if that isnt the ingredience for the Red Wings to get that PP going, I dont know what is. Wings vs Coyotes, tonight at the JLA--7:30.
