Thanks guy's. Eaves was sent to the LTIR, also...so Emmerton, who cleared waivers will probably be on the starting roster for the opener.
Whats wrong with Bertuzzi, Id much rather have him than about 5 guys on that roster. Im not a big Tater sauce fan, hes ok but even at 38 Bert brings way more to the table. To be honest now that Emmertonthe only guy I dont want in the lineup is Anderson. Sammy I can do without also. I wont get into the defense. Who in the hell is Jared Coreau? I hope Mrazek gets back soon, hes gonna be a good one I think. Hes lightning quick, good glove and his lateral movement speed is very impressive
when u figure it out, let me know. i'd never heard of him before yesterday. the horse's mouth (nhl.com) has listed opening day rosters: Detroit Red Wings Justin Abdelkader, Daniel Alfredsson, Joakim Andersson, Todd Bertuzzi, Daniel Cleary, Jared Coreau, Pavel Datsyuk, Danny DeKeyser, Cory Emmerton, Jonathan Eriksson, Johan Franzen, Jimmy Howard, Jakub Kindl, Niklas Kronwall, Brian Lashoff, Drew Miller, Xavier Ouellet, Kyle Quincey, Mikael Samuelsson, Brendan Smith, Tomas Tatar, Stephen Weiss, Henrik Zetterberg. Injured: Willem Coetzee, Patrick Eaves, Landon Ferraro, Jonas Gustafsson, Darren Helm, Nick Jensen, Jordin Tootoo. i'll say this in sammy's defense, and it's no secret i'm not his biggest fan.every time i saw him this preseason, he looked good. solid backchecking, responsible play. only saw bert play for a few minutes, but his skating looks fine - as fine as it ever did.
Red Wings win their opener 2-1 over the Sabres. Datsyuk and Samuelsson scored for the Wings, and the Wings killed all 7 of the Buffalo power plays, including 2, 5 on 3's. Howard and company really played well.
