Im putting it at 10. Hes a walk M.A.S.H. unit. I like him too we really could use him but I think he may never be the same player he was
I think the difference between WC teams and EC teams is blown way out of proportion. EC teams arent all thugs out of Slapshot's Iron League and the WC teams arent all Euro-like sissies that fly around the ice at a different speed.
Shanny reviewed Biznasty's 10 thumbs up and decided to reduce it to 2. Definitely more fighting in the east but the style isnt all that different. Wings are one of the quicker teams in either conference anyways.
EC teams spend more up front on UFA contracts and the results are predictable since skill costs more than hitters for depth purposes. More EC clubs think they're closer to the cup than they are most years too, so they gamble more on average too imo. I think that's why you see the difference in the records. WC teams top 10 skaters are bigger on average than the top 10 on EC teams...but shhhhhh, don't tell Lennie. I haven't looked at the rosters for this year yet, but I'm assuming it's the same. I think the WC will have a slight edge in interconference play again and not just because they're DOMINATE. As soon as some of the old gaurd is gone from the EC front offices, we'll see the shift again. It's no surprise to me that 2 of the best teams in the EC the last 5 years have non-old school gms. New isn't always better, but when there's a brand new rule set (cap), I don't think past success projects as well moving forward.
He was sent to Calgary, I think. Mrazek was sent down to the Griffs and the Monster isnt even practicing, so, Im curious who's going to be backing up Howard by Wednesday against Buffalo.
Mrazek will be backing up Howard. They had to make the move for roster implications. Im sure it was all done on paper and they will have to do some things on paper before the first game .
