quite possibly not be the greatest coach in Wings history but you gotta love a bloody suit behind the bench.

 

MAYBE and IF he can get the right players to play for him the Wings can be contenders again and quickly. He's been a winner at the lower levels and in Grand Rapids, so maybe I havnt given him enough time yet.

He did inherit a team in turmoil that Babcock left behind and a team that has done nothing to bolster the D and Goalie situation, yet still competes in every game. One thing ive noticed is the team doesn't quit under him and fight , scratch, kick and claw their way till the horn sounds... I like that.

The Wings should be real busy this off-season and I can better gauge the situation once he's had time to form his kind of team.

I think the Wings still need to toughen up a bit and adapt better to the Eastern way of playing the game. They seem to insist on playing the Western style, so to speak, and are getting bullied off the puck.

Tomas Tatar scored twice, and the Detroit Red Wings ended the Chicago Blackhawks' road winning streak in their last game at Joe Louis Arena with a 4-2 win Friday.

"They came out with a lot of energy and we didn't match it," Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane said. "I know they were coming off a couple very bad games, so we knew they were going to be a tough matchup for us."

Red Wings goalie Jimmy Howard made 24 saves in his first NHL game since injuring his knee on Dec. 20.

I spent many years on the other side of these types of matchups. Wings fans should jeer the Hawks.
